I’m Sayuri, a proud Soteropolitana—born and raised in Salvador, Bahia—and a Brazilian Black Asian (Blasian) tour guide. I absolutely love my hometown, and I love sharing it with travelers through experiences that go beyond the usual tourist attractions. As a licensed national and South American tour guide, I create experiences throughout Salvador and Bahia, including destinations such as Cachoeira (Reconcavo Baiano - birthplace of Samba de Roda), Morro de São Paulo, Boipeba, Praia do Forte (Turtle Sanctuary - TAMAR) and more. Salvador is often called “Black Rome” because of the strength and richness of its African heritage. In my tours, I love exploring this history and culture through music, food, literature, religion, neighborhoods, architecture and—most importantly—the people who make Salvador what it is. I also believe that traveling should benefit the local community. Whenever possible, my tours support small local businesses and independent producers, while still including the iconic places you came all the way to Bahia to see. 🌎 Virtual tours from Brazil In 2020, virtual tourism opened a whole new world for me. I discovered that it was possible to share Salvador with people anywhere in the world—even when they couldn't travel here themselves. Since then, I’ve hosted virtual experiences for students, families, groups of friends and seniors, and I’m especially passionate about my live-streamed tours of Salvador’s Old Town and my Musical Experience in Black Rome. 🍴 Culture, food & stories My experiences are also inspired by my love of Brazilian travel, literature, music and gastronomy. This is one exclusive tour: during 3 hours we will see the very authentic life in Salvador. Depending on the season, we can also be in a concert/musical concert in town and I organize 2 stops in local areas of bars in Salvador. It is also possible to see the Balle Folclorico (extra cost) If you are born in Salvador you are a soteropolitano. Well, let's spend time in Salvador like the soteropolitanos (sotero!) do. Food will be chosen depending on your taste, but I always recommend seafood (lambreta, pititinga, caranguejo, etc) or some of our fine gastronomy (nordestina or baiana). Usually in an area that is not touristic that you will be able to meet locals and see the atmosphere of our nightlife. This is one of my favourite tours - I'll share with you a real local experience! We only had one day to visit Salvador as we were on a cruise. Our visit couldn’t have been more perfect! Sayuri was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable. She exceeded our expectations in every way. The only thing that could have been better would have been another day!
Our tour with Sayuri was perfect for us. She is very charming, knowledgeable and is well known and respected in the different areas we visited. Sayuri was in contact with us before the tour to see what our interests were, as well as to advise and suggestions. The tour itself was visiting different neighborhoods and restaurants…and she was very flexible to meet our interests. She showed us her favorite restaurants and we sampled local cuisine. An amazing woman and guide. We arrived in Salvador at the end of our Brazil trip when energy was low..... We met up with Sayuri on our last day and she tailored us a really fun afternoon seeing a more local side of Salvador than our walking around the old city had enabled . She was totally attentive to what our teen boys wanted and flexible as she saw what excited them and what didn't Whilst driving, walking and sitting we gained insights into history, culture, religion and politics . I can't say enough about Sayuri's knowledge. Being on a tour with her was like being with a friend you haven't seen in years! Every where we went was as amazing as the last stop! I have told everyone I come into contact with that she was phenomenal! Love her
Depends on the tour, the itinerary might change. But it always include 2 local bars/"botecos, " so you can fell our nightlife in Salvador. This tour can also be booked during the day (after 11 am my local time) We will meet at the agreed location and I will give you a quick recap of the planned itinerary for the day. My Suggestion for a Basic Tour - we can always adjust to your needs in town 1. First Stop in the Old Town - see a bit of the most cultural squares of Salvador in the evening and try a "cravinho" - local drink - I suggest a 15/20 minutes warming up in the Old Town 2. If possible, depends on the season, stop for a music experience 3. Time to eat the best sea food in town: Mouraria or Saude for a "petisco" (tradicional food from Local Bars in Brazil) - that could be a "pastel de marisco" (sea food) 4. Surprise Stop

Private Sedan Car - FIAT Cronos 2023. For bigger groups (more them 3, we can adjust the vehicle and transportation for a Sprinter Van) If you want we can add a extra cost for a private driver - I recommend if you have low mobility in town. If it is booked as a night tour we might need to get taxi/ubers and they will be included in the cost of the tour.
