Hi, I'm Carlos, nice to meet you! Graduated in business administration, but always a lover of tourism, I started my professional life around 20 years ago working in hotels, restaurants and events, before developing my career as a Tour Guide. I lived in the United States, where I finished my final year of High School, and also in Europe, where I studied in France and Germany. I love traveling and discovering new cultures and I am equally passionate about my homeland, Salvador, a vibrant city with a fascinating mix of indigenous, European and African cultures. I love researching our rich history and culture and sharing it with our visitors. I am available to provide you with an excellent experience in Salvador and in the beautiful tourist regions of our state. Welcome to Bahia! And remember, all my tours can be customized upon request. Credencial for guiding localy in Bahia state, as well as Brazil and South America None

Sign up for this private gastronomy excursion to experience Salvador cuisine and learn the art of cooking a typical Bahian dish. Visit São Joaquim Market to know about the famous ingredients used in the regional dish, the moqueca - the most traditional fish stew of Brazil! Then, go to the Museum of Bahian Gastronomy and lastly, attend a local cooking class hosted by a Bahian expert chef. Bahian cuisine is very special in many ways. It is a combination of the heritage of Portuguese colonists and native Indians, and by far the most important influence on Bahian cuisine was African cuisine, which is not only determined by a special style of cooking but also enriched with African herbs and spices. Learn more about what makes Bahian cuisine special, and of course, enjoy the new flavors of dishes that will not leave you indifferent!
Connect with your tour guide at the agreed-upon location to start the program. First, we will visit one of the most traditional markets in the city to familiarize ourselves with the ingredients of our most famous dish: the moqueca (fish stew). Then, we will go to the Pelourinho district to visit the Museum of the Bahian Gastronomy, to delve deeper into the relationship between the cuisine of Bahia and that of the West African coast. Now, meet the cooks who will share with us the secrets of preparing a delicious stew followed by dessert.
