Hello, it's so nice to meet you! I'm Gabriela. I was born in Buenos Aires, where I attended a British school and learned English from a very young age. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and I lived and travel extensively in USA and Europe, both as a student and as a tourist. As a passionate traveller, one of those trips took me to Salvador, in 1993 and it was love at first sight! Im a licensed tour guide since 2000 and began focusing my studies on the mix of cultures and the profound African influence that is so present here and that fascinated me since the beginning. I have lots of experience organizing itineraries taking into consideration my clients specific interests and Im very flexible so we can have the best of Salvador within the time you have available. I love exploring inusual places outside of the typical tourist path, try delicious street food because I'm a foodie myself, listen to baian music at local bars while appreciating the sunset and get in touch with the real soul of the city. All my tours can be customized upon request. * Graduated in Public Relations by Universidad Argentina de la Empresa * Regional Tour Guide Official License from EMBRATUR * National Tour Guide Official License from EMBRATUR. I participe in lots of courses in History, African History, Art, Urbanization and Architecture. No restrictions

To walk around Pelourinho, the historical center of Salvador, feels like being in a live history class! The colonial Portuguese architecture, with its houses painted in vibrant colors, the secular churches and public buildings in squares and cobblestone paved narrow streets, the fascinating African influence in the music, the gastronomy and the religious mix… make us go back more than 300 years into the past, when Salvador was built to be the first capital of Brazil. During this three-hour tour I will take you on an adventure to discover the charm of Bahian people, as we admire some of the Pelourinho's extraordinary treasures and surprising secrets, like its museums, art galleries, handicraft stores, restaurants and bars, where you can taste anything from fresh tropical fruit juices to local liquors like caipirinha - Brazil's national cocktail made with sugarcane liquor, sugar and lime.
Highlights 1- Municipal Square, where we will see the Rio Branco Palace, the City Council and the iconic Lacerda Elevator, from where we will enjoy a marvelous view of the All Saints Bay and the Lower City. 2- The Sé Square, where the first cathedral of Brazil was built and the Archiepiscopal Palace. Here is a good place to try the "acarajé "with my favourite "baiana" 3- Terreiro de Jesus Square, where the former Jesuit School and Church were originally built. Nowadays, the Basilica Cathedral. 4- Cruzeiro de São Francisco Square, with its magnificent barroque golden Church of Saint Francis of Assisi. The vibrant, colorful and energetic Pelourinho Square, where we will find the Jorge Amado Foundation and the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Black Men. All my tours can be customized upon request
