Explore Belo Horizonte your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Belo Horizonte tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Belo Horizonte for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Follow your guide into Serra do Cipó National Park to hike to Cachoeira da Farofa and cool off in clear cerrado pools while spotting toucans and seriemas. Prefer to stay close? Walk Parque das Mangabeiras at sunrise and circle Lagoa da Pampulha to look for capybaras and herons.

Day trip tours: Spend the day in Ouro Preto and Mariana to step into Mina da Passagem gold mine and browse artisan shops in the historic centre before a lunch of feijão tropeiro and queijo minas. Or choose Inhotim in Brumadinho, where your guide times entries and maps a route to must-see pavilions by Tunga and Hélio Oiticica set in a vast botanical garden.

Layover tours: With a longer connection, a private layover tour can sweep you around the Pampulha Modern Ensemble to see Oscar Niemeyer’s Igreja São Francisco de Assis and the Portinari panels, plus a quick stop for pão de queijo at a favourite bakery. Short on time at CNF? Head to nearby Lagoa Santa for a guided walk in Sumidouro State Park and a torchlit visit to Lapinha Cave.

Public transport includes buses and the MOVE BRT, but sights are spread out and hilly, so walking between them isn’t ideal; you can book chauffeured tours or ask your local guide to include private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Belo Horizonte inside and out.
