I have travelled to many countries and worked and studied in Mexico, Germany, Italy, Ghana, and the United States, but I don't know any place like Mexico City.

Since I visited Mexico for the first time as a backpacker, I fell in love with Ciudad de México, its culture, its people, its amazingly fascinating history, and of course its world-class cuisine.

After pursuing my studies in History, Archaeology, and Political Science I moved here and became a licensed tour guide.
Since 1998, I have guided tours in Mexico, other countries in South America and also in Italy.
But my particular interest lies in the amazing cultural fusion and the historic roots of this vibrant metropolis.

My aim is to give you a deeper understanding of this history, the legends, the archaeology, Mexico City's everyday culture and show you its beautiful surroundings. Let me know what you are curious about, and what you want to see. Together we will create an unforgettable experience.

I won't be driving in my tours but will hire a professional driver when appropriate.

During this day trip, we will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the ridge between the magnificent Popocatépetl (5, 393 m) & Iztaccihuatl (5, 230 m) volcanoes, places full of history and legends.

We will hike in the footsteps of the conquistador Hernan Cortés and his indigenous Tlaxcaltec allies, as we take in the view of two of Mexico's highest mountains. Guided by yours truly, an experienced historian and VIP guide, I'll make sure you learn about the conquest of Mexico, the local traditions and the pre-Columbian history of this impressive region.

The ridge we'll cover has an altitude of approximately 3700 m (11000 ft. ) and the hike can be adapted according to your preferences. You can rest assured that this tour is only conducted during safe volcanic activity and in a safe distance to the "smoking mountain".

Once we've build up an appetite, we'll savor the treats of Amecameca's local food market, and explore the beautiful colonial center of Tlalmanalco with its XVI Century Franciscan monastery.

In the beautiful setting of Chapultepec Park, the architect Pedro Ramirez Vazquez created his masterwork: The Anthropology Museum of Mexico City, home to the most important collection of pre-Columbian art in the World.

Together we will explore the history of ancient Mexico from its earliest beginnings to the clash of civilizations that occurred with the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. We will admire the monumental basalt heads that the Olmec culture created 3000 years ago in the rain forests of Mesoamerica.

I'll tell you about the adventurous cracking of the Maya code and help you to explore the history and culture of the Aztec Empire. I'll make sure you understand the meaning of the Aztec Sun Stone for Mexico's national identity, and that Gods like Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc and Xochipilli will be no longer be like strangers for you.

This comprehensive tour will help you to understand and appreciate the 3, 000 year old civilization of Mesoamerica and its importance for Mexico today.

National Museum of Anthropology - a Historians Perspective

Mexico City's Historic Centre is where Mexican history was made. It's where the Aztec's capital city Tenochtitlan was located. From here, they ruled over the biggest empire in ancient Mesoamerica, building their main temple with the sanctuaries for the rain god Tlaloc and the sun god Huitzilopochtli. Here is also where the Aztec ruler Moctezuma and Hernan Cortés met in one of the most amazing moments of World History.

We'll explore the history in the same place it happened. We'll see the Aztec temples and the colonial heart of the capital city built on their ruins. We'll also visualize the cultural fusion that this epic encounter produced and discuss the cultural & political impact that the events which happened 500 years ago still have on Mexico today.

I'll help you unveil the hidden history below the surface of this dynamic Metropolis. We'll also explore the birthplace of Mexico's post-revolutionary muralism movement and I'll tell you how this artistic revival reinterpreted the history of the conquest.
