Hola! Welcome to the most amazing city in Latin America! I have travelled to many countries and worked and studied in Mexico, Germany, Italy, Ghana, and the United States, but I don't know any place like Mexico City. Since I visited Mexico for the first time as a backpacker, I fell in love with Ciudad de México, its culture, its people, its amazingly fascinating history, and of course its world-class cuisine. After pursuing my studies in History, Archaeology, and Political Science I moved here and became a licensed tour guide. Since 1998, I have guided tours in Mexico, other countries in South America and also in Italy. But my particular interest lies in the amazing cultural fusion and the historic roots of this vibrant metropolis. My aim is to give you a deeper understanding of this history, the legends, the archaeology, Mexico City's everyday culture and show you its beautiful surroundings. Let me know what you are curious about, and what you want to see. Together we will create an unforgettable experience. Vamos, let's go and explore… Certified Tourist Guide by the Mexican Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR). Guide License N008773 Master's Degree in Latin American History and Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin Master's Degree in Bilingual Education from University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) I won't be driving in my tours but will hire a professional driver when appropriate.

Mexico City's Historic Centre is where Mexican history was made. It's where the Aztec's capital city Tenochtitlan was located. From here, they ruled over the biggest empire in ancient Mesoamerica, building their main temple with the sanctuaries for the rain god Tlaloc and the sun god Huitzilopochtli. Here is also where the Aztec ruler Moctezuma and Hernan Cortés met in one of the most amazing moments of World History. We'll explore the history in the same place it happened. We'll see the Aztec temples and the colonial heart of the capital city built on their ruins. We'll also visualize the cultural fusion that this epic encounter produced and discuss the cultural & political impact that the events which happened 500 years ago still have on Mexico today. I'll help you unveil the hidden history below the surface of this dynamic Metropolis. We'll also explore the birthplace of Mexico's post-revolutionary muralism movement and I'll tell you how this artistic revival reinterpreted the history of the conquest.
·Once we've met at the Porrúa bookshop in the Historical Centre, we will proceed to visit the ruins of its Aztec temples and see the colonial palaces that replaced them. Then during this tour we will visit the following landmarks: - Templo Mayor, the main temple of the Aztecs. - The National Palace and former seat of the colonial governments. - Mexico City's colonial Cathedral. - San Ildefonso, the former Jesuit seminar and birthplace of Mexico's muralism movement. - The hidden grave of the conquistador Hernan Cortés. - Bellas Artes, the Palace of Fine Arts with its magnificent wall paintings. We will end our tour at the Palace of Fine Arts which is perfectly located to explore further from there, or to get transported to the next part of your visit to this marvellous city. Of course I can assist you with tips for your further planning. All tours can be adapted according to your individual preferences.

Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: We meet at the intersection of Av. República de Argentina 15 and Justo Sierra. At this corner there's a bookshop named Porrúa, located at Av. República de Argentina 15, Centro Histórico, which is nearby to Templo Mayor and the Mexico City Cathedral. Please note there are other Porrúa bookshop locations nearby, so confirm that you are meeting at the one at República de Argentina 15. If it is raining, we will meet inside the store, at the glass elevator, just inside, to the right.
