Hi! My name is Enrique Ortiz , a passionate about Mexico's history and culture. Im a writer that already published 2 books with Penguin Random House Publisher, also a lecturer and a Official Tourist Guide (acknowledged by the Federal Ministry of Tourism, SECTUR). Join me to know the wonders of Mexico city and Teotihuacan, places with a lot of history, beautiful constructions and delicious food. Its not only about learning about the past and visiting beautiful places but spending a great time and convince you to return to Mexico! I was certified as a Federal Tourism Guide at the Tourism Higher School of the National Polytechnic Institute, where I graduated with honors as I achieved the second highest performance of my class. At present, I devote my time to my greatest passion: spreading and sharing the historic and cultural richness of Mexico. For eight years, I have organized and guided cultural and tourist tours in my country, which include the visit of archaeological sites, the historical downtown of Mexico City and Puebla, as well as of temples and convents built during the Viceroyalty. Thanks to the more than 200 tours I have guided, I am a faithful witness of the deep love and respect for Mexico reflected by my visitors and followers, who feel tempted to know more about my country's history and to come back again. In 2018, I was certified as a FEDERAL TOURIST GUIDE studying at the National Polytechnic Institute Tourism School where I graduated with honors as I achieved the second highest performance of my class. Im a writer mostly focused in prehispanic cultures (aztec and teotihuacan) and Mexico city history. Official name of the certification: NOM-08-TUR-2002 with 2 languages: Spanish and English None

Overview of your Mexico City tour

Visit with an expert in mesoamerican cultures the Anthropology Musem of Mexico City, and avoid getting lost in more than 22 halls and 5000 pieces! Understand the highlights of the most emblematic cultures of ancient Mexico like the mayas, mexica, teotihuacans and toltecs. Understand the symbolism of each of their artworks. Dont miss the opportunity of knowing the secrets of this amazing place founded in 1964. I have been doing this tour for more than 4 years, and as a writer (Las Águilas de Tenochtitlan by Penguin Random House, 2020) and an expert in mesoamerican cultures I can give you not only information about the prehispanic civilization, but the history behind the construction of the museum, and the iconic pieces of each hall. A visit to Mexico City without visiting this museum will not be complete! A must for art, history, culture, archeology lovers!

Our visit to the Anthropology Museum was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico City, and that was entirely thanks to Enrique. He was incredibly knowledgeable, but what really set him apart was how fun, engaging, and personable he was. Every exhibit came alive through the stories and context he shared, and his enthusiasm was contagious. The museum is amazing but also enormous, and we would have missed so much without his guidance. Honestly, I don't think we would have understood even a tenth of what we were seeing on our own. Enrique helped us appreciate not just the artifacts themselves, but the history, culture, and people behind them. If you're visiting the museum, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Enrique. He made an already incredible place unforgettable.

I could not have been more impressed with Enrique, and Tours by Locals in general. This company made everything easy leading up to the tour and Enrique was the exact type of guide we were looking for. Vastly knowledgeable, flexible and agreeable. We had to shorten our tour due to some of our abilities to stand for hours which is unfortunate because there was so much to learn and Enrique loved sharing it all. I will definitely do another tour with Enrique to do another deep dive.

Fantastic experience touring the Museum of Anthropology with Enrique. We came to the museum with two tween boys and asked our guide to tailor the tour to them. Not only did they stay engaged for the entire duration of the visit, they also thought it was one of the highlights of the trip! Enrique made it fun, informative and educational. Highly recommended!

So much information so little time! Enrique was a passionate, easy going, and so knowledgeable guide. We had such a informative and fun time at the Anthropology Museum that we want to come back for more. Enrique did such an outstanding job setting up the groundworks about learning the history of Mexico and giving you a very thorough lecture. I find myself wanting to go back and reviewing what was taught and using what I learned and experiencing it again.
