Explore Tijuana your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Tijuana tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Tijuana for every interest, including:

Food and Drink tours: Try Baja Med dishes where they began at places like Misión 19 or the classic Caesar’s, then graze through tacos at Las Ahumaderas and craft beers at Insurgente Tap Room or Telefónica Gastro Park. Add Mercado Hidalgo to these tours for fresh fruit, cheeses, and candy tastings.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Hike Cerro Colorado to spot hawks and spring blooms in the chaparral, then walk the Playas de Tijuana seafront to peer into tide pools and watch seabirds. In season, your guide can add grey-whale watching on a day trip from Rosarito or Ensenada to these tours.

Adventure tours: Take surf lessons at Playas de Tijuana, mountain bike dirt singletrack on Cerro Colorado, or spend a day at Las Cañadas near Ensenada for ziplines and hanging bridges. These private tours match route length and speed to your comfort.

Tijuana is spread out, and while you can walk short distances downtown, most sights require a ride; taxis and rideshares are common, and you can book chauffeured tours or ask your guide to include private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Tijuana inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Tijuana

Plan Tijuana day trips that follow the Baja coast or head into wine country, and shape each day trip tour around tacos, beaches, street art, or vineyards with flexible tours that keep driving time reasonable.

- Rosarito blends wide beaches, surf breaks, and local art spots, so if you prefer low-key seaside time with easy seafood stops and a sunset walk, it fits a relaxed day.

- Valle de Guadalupe focuses on vineyards, tasting rooms, and farm kitchens, which suits wine fans and food lovers who want slow roads, vineyard views, and a mix of small producers.

- Ensenada and La Bufadora pair a busy waterfront and fish market with a cliffside blowhole viewpoint, a simple plan for street food, harbour strolls, and coastal scenery on the same route.

- Tecate and La Rumorosa offer a calm plaza town and rugged granite overlooks, a good choice if you like bakeries, murals, and short hikes to big desert views without long trail time.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Tijuana most travellers miss.
