I'm passionate about the history, traditions, rich gastronomy, nature observation, and social dynamics that make for the cultural wealth of this complex country that we call Mexico. At every place I guide you, I'll provide information about the history, art, famous people, and special places that you will find beautiful and interesting. Before being an independent nation Mexico was a colony of the Spanish Empire for almost 300 years, we inherited a legacy of architecture, art, religion, social organization, gastronomy, language, and traditions that mixed with the ancient culture of the civilizations that strived here. Mexico has several archaeological sites, natural marvels, colonial towns, and traditions that I take pride in going off the beaten track to find. People and their complex relations is a most interesting field of study through direct contact, history, and even archaeology; on my tours and services you'll contact with the communities, the cooperatives, and the real people who offer their services and the role I play is of a facilitator and translator for you to get to know the country as deep as you may. My adventure-seeking attitude, preparation as a certified Tour Guide, Dive Master, and other qualifications will lead you toward the most thrilling experiences in the most professional way. Every activity I plan carefully for the safety and full enjoyment of my customers, with more than 25 years of experience in the tourism industry, I am committed to the service and well-being of my guests, who often become long-lasting friendships. I started in the tourism activity as a waiter and earned the Five Diamond Award for Excellence in Service two years in a row at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cancun, I have experience planning complex logistics, leading groups, solving special requests, and enjoying new demanding challenges. Thank you for your interest in my services, I'm looking forward to providing a memorable experience of your visit to Mexico. Overview of your Mexico City tour

Located a mere 50 km from downtown Mexico City, Teotihuacan is an ancient city that reached its heyday at the classic period of the Meso American cultures between the VI to VIII century of our era, when they became the masters of their known world. We will admire the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, visit the temples and palaces and of course we'll walk the famous Causeway of the Dead while I provide you information related to their religion, origin, language, and several other features of their culture. Afterwards we may visit the museum on site where you can admire the original paintings from the murals, several sculptures and objects recovered from the palaces and temples. The shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is the most visited catholic temple in the world after San Marcos in the Vatican, the Basilica is an icon to the city and a must if you want to learn about the lore of the actual Mexican society.

Alberto is a pro's pro. Our whole family absolutely loved him. He was lively and engaged us with stories and history for the entire trip. He was very easy to talk to. Even during the van ride between destinations he regaled us with tales of ancient Mexico. He brought each site to life, pointing out facts hidden in the structures, walls, and paintings of the Teotihuacán pyramids. He described both churches in detail at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, gave historical context, and again told captivating stories to bring both places to life. He took us to two separate eateries that were devoid of tourists so we got to taste what real Mexicans eat. He took photos of us but we loved him so much we took photos of him! If I can come up with the time I absolutely would hire him again, it's impossible to have a better guide. Note also he does tours of different areas of Mexico besides Mexico City. A truly gifted guide, we give him our highest recommendation!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our tour with Alberto and Tours by Locals in general. From the very beginning, booking, changes, etc. everything was made easy by this company. Alberto made our day at the pyramids educational, myth busting, fun, and delicious. He has been guiding tours for many years and has a vast knowledge about the pyramids, Mexico and the Americas. I highly recommend.

Alberto was fantastic. I can't imagine visiting Teotihuacan without him. His knowledge of the site, and all of Mexico City, was incredible. I will recommend him to all of my friends and will definitely call him when I return to Mexico City.

We had a fabulous time with Alberto! We did the Teotihuacan tour, but I’m sure any tour with Alberto would be equally informative, fun and worthwhile. We highly recommend Alberto as a guide in Mexico City. Alberto picked us up in his very comfortable car, and we learned a lot as we chatted the whole way to and from Teotihuacan. One of the many highlights of the day was a stop to pick up some tamales for breakfast (delicious!). We also had a great lunch of pozole off the beaten track on the way home. The tour of Teotihuacan itself was incredible. Alberto was very knowledgeable and could answer questions about just about anything. He offered customizations throughout the tour based on our interests. We highly recommend Alberto as a guide in Mexico City.
