Hello Amigos! Join me to explore unique experiences. I am an historian and great connoisseur of Art, Architecture, Culture, Museums, Food, Traditions and Lifestyles of Mexico City. I started guiding and sharing my passion of mexican culture when I finished university in 2016 , and since then I have been collaborating with several tour companies. By doing this I discovered the importance of having not only a tour guide, as a traveller you will need a LOCAL FRIEND that can give you any detail about what to do, eat, see, and visit in my city. With my professional experience, my passion for my country and my pride for my culture you will get more than a tour service, you will receive safety, fun, interesting, customized and enriching experiences, ¡ 100% guaranteed ! For the above, I would love to guide you around my city and show you more than of the classic sites, I will also share with you the hidden and fascinating not so known details. I plan carefully every activity for any special request that you might have, so I am happy to customize and offer a memorable experience, so I encourage you to contact me and have a great time while visiting Mexico city. - Major in History by the UNAM (Latin America's Most Important University). - Licesend Tour Guide by the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico - Specialization Course in Mexican Art History by the UNAM and Amparo Museum (2020) - First Aid Certification (2022, 2018). - Course by the Mexican Health Minister in: Tourism: Safe return (Sept 2020) - For larger groups, more than 6 we have to use a Rented Van with private driver, so this will cause an increase in the price of the tours.

Overview of your Mexico City tour

I love this tour because everytime I am amazed by the big mosaic of history, culture, art and lifestyles that this 700 hundred years old city has to offer. In this walking experience I will share with you a time travel across 5 UNESCO heritage sites. I really enjoy this tour because there is simply too much to see, even as a local guide, it always thrills me how the amazing prehispanic past shares the same space with the spanish colonial heritage, and at the same time our modern history was painted by the eyes of Diego Rivera. Definitely this is a time travelling experience. In addition to this, is enlightening how the streets of the downtown are the perfect excuse to admire the different architecture, contemporary lifestyles and flavors we will find in Madero street. This is perfect for enjoying together delicious food and drinks. Come with me and discover places that you could never imagine, my goal is to share what this city can offer, its culture, history and exquisite food.

If you’re looking for a guide who can truly bring the layers of Mexico City to life, look no further than Jose Luis. We took his historic half-day walking tour, and it was the absolute highlight of our trip. Jose Luis doesn’t just recite facts; he tells the story of this 700-year-old city with incredible passion and deep knowledge. Starting at Alameda Park, he provided such vivid context for Diego Rivera’s "Sunday Afternoon Dream" mural that it felt like we were stepping into the painting ourselves. From there, the tour was a masterclass in architectural beauty. We were blown away by the Art Deco lobby of the Fine Arts Palace, the "golden" interior of the Post Office Palace, and the stunning tilework of the House of Tiles. The finale at the Zócalo was breathtaking. Jose Luis navigated us through the massive Metropolitan Cathedral and ended with a perfect panoramic view of the Templo Mayor ruins. Seeing the Aztec foundations right next to the colonial city really put the whole history of Mexico into perspective. Jose Luis is professional, charming, and clearly loves his city. If you want a deep dive into the heart of CDMX that feels like a stroll with a brilliant friend, book him immediately!

Jose Luis provided an interesting walking tour through the historic center of Mexico City. Starting with the history of Mexico depicted in the Diego Rivera mural near Alameda Park, he pointed out a number of interesting architecturally and historically important buildings like the Post Office, Fine Arts Palace, House of Tiles, Metropolitan Cathedral, and Government Buildings. We walked through a number of shopping areas, the large square, and ended at the Aztec ruins that were uncovered by the electric company. Jose Luis's expert knowledge of Mexican history made this particularly interesting. He also recommended a nice rooftop restaurant for lunch and some options for us to do later in the day.

The itinerary for this tour is very well thought out and executed. After the hotel pick-up, Jose-Louis laid the foundation of Mexico's post-classical history utilizing Rivera's mural in Alameda Park. This was followed by a walking tour through several important landmarks and a description of their cultural and historical significance. Jose-Louis' knowledge of art history was a strong point. Although more expensive than other tours of this area, the price was worth it to us for the convenience of not having to think about transportation or navigating from site to site. We were also able to stop for a break for snacks. I did deduct 1 star out of 5 for a few inappropriate comments Jose-Louise made in front of our young child. I understand he rarely if ever has had a young child on his tour but wanted to mention it if other families plan to book. Other than that, this was a solid experience
