An ancient legend tells of a beautiful moon goddess who bestowed numerous gifts upon humankind. Among them was the ability to weave. But it wasn’t just clothes and fabrics; she also gave us the gift of weaving words together to create stories. Hey there! I’m Carlos, your dedicated guide and storyteller, here to make history as captivating as a mariachi serenade. Get ready for Mexican myths, legends, and the juiciest historical gossip! I’ll admit the path that brought me here had its fair share of unexpected twists, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Though my love for Mexico’s history and culture has been with me since my student days, my career initially took a very different route, leaving this passion as a “side hobby.” After graduating with a degree in Actuarial Sciences (plus a side degree in Art and History), I found myself navigating the corporate world. After a few years, I then tried launching my own business. It was an exciting challenge, but like many, I wasn’t prepared for COVID-19, which, predictably, took things in a very different direction and forced me to shut down my project. However, for the first time in years, I sat down to reflect on what I truly wanted, and I realized my passion was with the stories and legends that breathe life into this dynamic, crazy, and lively city. Making the leap from my office desk job to freelance tour guiding was a game-changer, and I’ve never looked back. My journey's been driven by a passion for history and learning. Even when it was “just a hobby,” I spent two decades devouring books, documentaries, novels, articles, podcasts, you name it. I was fortunate enough to learn English early, which allowed me to explore a wider universe of history, points of view, and of course, a few guilty-pleasure conspiracy theories. History isn’t just a subject for me; it’s a calling. I’ve immersed myself in its stories, its people, and its fascinating details because I’m genuinely passionate about it. And now, I’m thrilled to share that passion with every traveler I have the pleasure of guiding through this remarkable city. Whether we’re hiking through the ruins at Teotihuacan, savoring street food, or strolling through historic neighborhoods, I’ll make sure you feel at home, share plenty of nerdy fun facts, and help turn your visit into an unforgettable experience. I’m all about a “no rush” policy, so take your time to soak in the city’s vibrant culture, gastronomy, and traditions at your own pace. Every guest is unique, and so are their adventures. If you have an idea you’d like to include, crave a churro stop somewhere, or want to visit the exact spot where your grandma took that photo years ago, just let me know, I’ll do my best to make it happen. Let’s embark on this adventure together and uncover the secrets, stories, and magic of Mexico City. Hope to meet you soon!

Overview of your Mexico City tour

An old legend tells us of giants that built a city in which the gods gathered, of two brothers that ventured into the underworld, and of a great sacrifice meant to give life to humankind. Enjoy the Teotihuacán Pyramids as a local would! Visit the last remaining structures of this mysterious and incredible civilization, including Death's Avenue, the Sun and Moon Pyramids, and Quetzalpapalotl's Palace. Allow me to walk you through the site like an old friend would, telling you the stories, myths, and legends that surround this nearly two-thousand-year-old mystery awarded as part of Humanity's Heritage by UNESCO. One of the "Must See" when visiting Mexico City! Each traveler is as unique as their adventures. Just let me know how I can customize your experience! *"In-Depth" version of this route is available

Carlos is a professional in every sense of the word. His communications with us leading up to our trip to Mexico City extended well beyond the actual tour itself. My wife and I were planning a whirlwind World Cup adventure culminating with a knock-out game of 32 in the Estadio Azteca. He assisted me in neighborhood selection, restaurants and even good direction on using a car service to and from the stadium. His communication skills within the 2-days we spent with him were outstanding and he was able to share a myriad of perspectives of the cultures of Mexico and central America how they meshed and evolved over the centuries. If you have a zest for understanding the "lay of the land" both culturally and geographically, then you will really enjoy your time with him. Kathryn and Scott Saffer (NC USA)

Terrific tour day with our family of 4 (two boys 11 and 14) with Carlos. We got a great overview of the Teotihuacán site with him and comfortable transportation to and from Mexico City.

Carlos was an amazing host, not only did he provide an education, engaging morning at the pyramids for us (2 adults and 2 teens) but then took us to a lovely local restaurant with fantastic tacos and to a friends obsidian workshop to purchase some local crafts when we didn’t see much we fell in love with at the pyramids. This on top of being flexible to rebook after someone in our party was sick on the original date, he shared contact for local doctors should we need one. We chatted history and culture for much of the day - conversation was easy and comfortable. Please do yourself a favor and book a tour with Carlos - you will be so happy you did.

Carlos was terrific. Knowledgeable in both the history and culture. He was a fun, patient and flexible guide. He came to understand our interest and made adjustment to our stop to suit them. This gives me great confidence to recommend him to others.
