Hola! Welcome to the most amazing city in Latin America! I have travelled to many countries and worked and studied in Mexico, Germany, Italy, Ghana, and the United States, but I don't know any place like Mexico City. Since I visited Mexico for the first time as a backpacker, I fell in love with Ciudad de México, its culture, its people, its amazingly fascinating history, and of course its world-class cuisine. After pursuing my studies in History, Archaeology, and Political Science I moved here and became a licensed tour guide. Since 1998, I have guided tours in Mexico, other countries in South America and also in Italy. But my particular interest lies in the amazing cultural fusion and the historic roots of this vibrant metropolis. My aim is to give you a deeper understanding of this history, the legends, the archaeology, Mexico City's everyday culture and show you its beautiful surroundings. Let me know what you are curious about, and what you want to see. Together we will create an unforgettable experience. Vamos, let's go and explore… Certified Tourist Guide by the Mexican Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR). Guide License N008773 Master's Degree in Latin American History and Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin Master's Degree in Bilingual Education from University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) I won't be driving in my tours but will hire a professional driver when appropriate.

In the beautiful setting of Chapultepec Park, the architect Pedro Ramirez Vazquez created his masterwork: The Anthropology Museum of Mexico City, home to the most important collection of pre-Columbian art in the World. Together we will explore the history of ancient Mexico from its earliest beginnings to the clash of civilizations that occurred with the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. We will admire the monumental basalt heads that the Olmec culture created 3000 years ago in the rain forests of Mesoamerica. I'll tell you about the adventurous cracking of the Maya code and help you to explore the history and culture of the Aztec Empire. I'll make sure you understand the meaning of the Aztec Sun Stone for Mexico's national identity, and that Gods like Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc and Xochipilli will be no longer be like strangers for you. This comprehensive tour will help you to understand and appreciate the 3, 000 year old civilization of Mesoamerica and its importance for Mexico today. Let's explore!

Jens covered everything we were curious about beforehand, and raised our interest in things we knew nothing about. Quickly tailored to our interests and background, this tour made a monumental museum comprehensible. Glad we had Jens by our side today.
Jens was amazing- very informative and engaging. I completely recommend him especially if you are not a Spanish speaker as the museum is amazing but most signs are in Spanish. Worth every penny.
Jens is an excellent guide. He has an academic background and was the perfect guide for the museum. I recommend him highly.
As a worldwide traveler in my 60s I can say that this was possibly the best guided tour I have ever taken. The breadth and depth of Jens' knowledge is astounding and his enthusiasm for his adoptive country is infectious. The Anthropological museum is so vast that it would be overwhelming without a guide and it was extremely valuable that Jens provides a curated experience touching on important highlights so as not to bury his audience in an onslaught of information. He has a playful sense of humor and is all around a great guy! I wish we hadn't booked other tours or I would have booked every tour with Jens!
My wife and I were on the fence as to whether to tackle this museum on our own or hire a guide. Fortunately, we opted for the latter. Jens is extremely well informed. He made our three hours at the museum so much more productive and enjoyable. We’ve used guides before when traveling. Jen’s is one of the best as he made us feel we were experiencing the museum as part of a terrific college level history class. Definitely money well spent.
·Once we met in the entrance lobby of the Museum, I'll proceed to give you an introduction of the history of this architectural masterpiece. ·We will then enter, proceeding to visit the most important parts of this monumental collection. Some important stops on our voyage through Mesoamerica's history are: - the section of the Olmecs with their monumental sculptures. - the Maya section, with the grave of King Pakal. - the section of the Teotihuacans and their mysterious origins. - the war-like Toltecs and their Atlas warrior. - and finally the Aztecs section, the founders of Tenochtitlan / Mexico City. Of course you can rest assure that I will be able to focus on your specific interests and adapt the tour accordingly. I am looking forward to meeting you.
