I'll admit the path that took me here had some unexpected twists, but I'm convinced it was worth it. While I've been passionate about my country's history and culture since my student years, my career path initially took me in a very different direction, leaving the rest as a "side hobby". After graduating college, I found myself with a degree in Actuarial Sciences (an additional side degree in Art and History), and within the corporate world. After a few years, I tried opening my own business, and while exciting, I definitely wasn't ready for COVID-19, which predictably took things in a very different, yet surprising, direction. For the first time in years, I had time on my hands to think about what I really wanted for myself, and realized my true passion lay in the stories, myths, and legends that bring this dynamic city to life. Transitioning from my office desk job to becoming a freelance tour guide was a game-changer and I've never looked back. I like to think my journey has been a testament to my lifelong passion for history and learning. Even if "just a hobby", for two decades, I've been devouring books, documentaries, novels, magazine articles, podcasts - you name it. And thanks to learning English early on, I've had the chance to explore an even wider world of stories. History isn't just a subject; it's a calling for me. I've immersed myself in its stories, its people, and its intricacies because I'm incredibly passionate about it.
