An ancient legend tells of a beautiful moon goddess who bestowed numerous gifts upon humankind. Among them was the ability to weave. But it wasn’t just clothes and fabrics; she also gave us the gift of weaving words together to create stories. Hey there! I’m Carlos, your dedicated guide and storyteller, here to make history as captivating as a mariachi serenade. Get ready for Mexican myths, legends, and the juiciest historical gossip! I’ll admit the path that brought me here had its fair share of unexpected twists, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Though my love for Mexico’s history and culture has been with me since my student days, my career initially took a very different route, leaving this passion as a “side hobby.” After graduating with a degree in Actuarial Sciences (plus a side degree in Art and History), I found myself navigating the corporate world. While I did enjoy making spreadsheets, after a few years, I tried launching my own business. It was an exciting challenge, but like many, I wasn’t prepared for COVID-19, which, predictably, took things in a very different direction. For the first time in years, I sat down to reflect on what I truly wanted, and I realized my passion was with the stories and legends that breathe life into this dynamic, crazy, and lively city. Making the leap from my office desk job to freelance tour guiding was a game-changer, and I’ve never looked back. My journey's been driven by a passion for history and learning. Even when it was “just a hobby,” I spent two decades devouring books, documentaries, novels, articles, podcasts, you name it. I was fortunate enough to learn English early, which allowed me to explore a wider universe of history, points of view, and of course, a few guilty-pleasure conspiracy theories. History isn’t just a subject for me; it’s a calling. I’ve immersed myself in its stories, its people, and its fascinating details because I’m genuinely passionate about it. And now, I’m thrilled to share that passion with every traveler I have the pleasure of guiding through this remarkable city. Whether we’re hiking through a mountain towards ancient ruins, savoring street food, or strolling through historic neighborhoods, I’ll make sure you feel at home, share plenty of nerdy fun facts, and, hopefully, help turn your visit into an unforgettable experience. I’m all about a “no rush” policy, so take your time to soak in the city’s vibrant culture, gastronomy, and traditions at your own pace. Every guest is unique, and so are their adventures. If you have an idea you’d like to include, crave a churro stop somewhere, or want to visit the exact spot where your grandma took that photo years ago, just let me know, I’ll do my best to make it happen. Let’s embark on this adventure together and uncover the secrets, stories, and magic of Mexico City. Hope to meet you soon!

In Mexico, the title Pueblo Mágico isn’t just for show—it’s a badge of cultural richness, history, and charm. And Malinalco wears it like a crown. Tucked into lush green mountains, this hidden gem is where ancient rituals, colonial legends, and a whole lot of flavor come together. Join me for a day that’s anything but ordinary. We’ll stroll through cobblestone streets, climb up to a temple carved directly into the mountain, where ancient warriors were initiated, and enjoy a delicious lunch featuring traditional Mexican cuisine. And if we're lucky, we might even stumble across one of the town's mezcal shops—small, colorful spots offering a taste of something special. From sacred sites to vibrant murals that tell the story of Mexico's cultural crossroads, Malinalco will surprise you at every turn. This is the kind of place that doesn't just check a box—it becomes the story you tell when you get back home. Don't hesitate to conact me if you'd like to customize this tour.
-Pick Up. Mexico City, Local Hotel, or other location (approx 2 hour drive) -After parking, we'll head towards the traditional town plaza -Head off to the archaeological site and the pyramid 400 steps separate us from it, surrounded by nature, as well as several rest stops along the way. -Site's Museum. If the climb is not your style, don't worry, there's an amazing pyramid replica inside, as well as a great collection of local cultural and historic artifacts -For lunch, enjoy some amazing Mexican dishes and local favorites (extra cost) from a selection of local traditional restaurants. -San Agustín Monastery. Admire a 1500s mural painted by the natives while we learn a bit about some of the lesser-known implications behind the Spanish invasion. IMPORTANT. Since this is a working religious monastery, we should be respectful and stay flexible since the site can close down unexpectedly for ceremonies. - Travel back to Mexico City. Toyota Prius w/seating up to 4 -Clean, comfortable and sanitized -Air Conditioned -USB ports for phones/tablets -Seating arrangement: 1 in front passenger, 3 in the rear seat. Max seating based on typical-sized adults/children. The number of passengers would be reduced for oversized/taller passengers to ensure comfort and accessibility. While my idea is to take traffic and driving off your shoulders, once we park, we'll then be walking from location to location. Remember to bring comfortable shoes!
