I have guided more than 1200 people from over 40 countries in the past 3 years after the pandemic. I enjoy meeting people from different cultural backgrounds and sharing them with each other! I am also eager to share the beauty and great aspects of Tokyo I was born in Kobe, in the Western part of Japan, near Kyoto. More recently, I have been living in Tokyo for 18 years. I have one son who is 17 years old. While I have already lived in Tokyo for quite a long time, I always discover many new and intriguing things that I am eager to share with my private tour clients. My interest in Japanese culture includes traditional arts and crafts, Japanese tea and confectionery, calligraphy, Kimono, traditional tea ceremonies and theater such as Kabuki, Noh and Bunraku. I also love to stroll around town enjoying the lovely gardens and historic architecture. I have always been interested in or curious about cultural activities, and I have experienced some of them by myself. I have practiced calligraphy, tea ceremony, making Japanese confectionery and even know how to wear Japanese Kimono the traditional way! "Treasure every encounter" is the primary teaching by Sen-no Rikyu, the perfecter of the tea ceremony, and means each encounter you experience is a very precious and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
