We will start with a short sightseeing tour of Amsterdam and a visit to the Rijksmuseum for a guided tour of the world famous collection of 17th century painters like Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals, Jan Steen and many others, plus dolls houses, maritime history, Delft Blue, etc. We will than travel North trough the Beemster polder which was reclaimed 400 years ago (a UNESCO world heritage site) to the old whalers town of De Rijp where we'll have lunch, after which we'll drive to the windmills of the Schermerhorn Polder that have been pumping here for 400 years (Open May 1 - Nov. 1) Climb the steep staircases of one of the 400 year old mills! We can taste cheese in Edam on our way back ! As your private tour guide, I can adjust the schedule and duration to your need
Great tour! We really enjoyed our time in the museum, and then visiting two really quaint towns north of the city. Rene had a vast knowledge of the artwork in the museum, the major points of interest in the city, the history of the polders and the windmills, and so many details about the villages we passed through. We also had a great lunch! Rene was one of the best Tours by Local guides we have had! Highly recommend!
Rene was just excellent! He chose the most unique and interesting restaurants and towns along the way. His explanations of windmill technology was outstanding.
Rene was fantastic. His knowledge of Van Gough was extensive. He showed us amazing building, different architecture, and wonderful country sides. He was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job for my girls and I.
René gave a great tour to the Rijksmuseum and out to Edam and the countryside. He had extensive knowledge, had a great sense of humor, and made the day very pleasant. Highly recommended
