Granada never disappoints. It's deffinitely one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and, until not so long, a real hidden gem. Get the most out of the hours your ship will be mooring at Motril Port and come to discover all the amazing things this city has to offer in the most convenient way!!

A professional driver will wait for you at Motril harbour to drive you to Granada on a modern, air-conditioned vehicle; it's about 1 hour drive through a stunning landscape and, when the driver speaks English, he/she will be able to tell you some curiosities about it.

Visit the Alhambra knowing all the details of its beautiful and magic architecture. Something that will surprise you is to discover that the Alhambra is not a palace or a group of palaces. It is an independent walled city which was begun to be built in the 13th Century, and even today there is still a little neighbourhood inside.

The current Alhambra families correspond to the tourism movement that started in the 19th Century. Artists and writers like Washington Irving began to disseminate the beauty and the exoticism of this place and it meant the arrival of travellers to Granada.

And I belong to one of these families. I grew up in the Alhambra. During the 1850's and 1860's, some entrepreneurs bought some houses in the Alhambra in order to have their businesses and also their homes inside the citadel. This is the case of my great-great-grandfather, Abelardo Linares, who was a photographer. Since then, 3 generations were born and grew up inside the Alhambra.
