If you do not know much about the city or want to explore more its history, this tour is for you and specially recommended as an initial contact with the city. I will let you know how Granada has been so important (and different to many others!) in the spanish history, how the moors managed to keep it for eight centuries and how HUGE was the influence of the Isabella and Ferdinand (the Catholic Monarchs) since they took over it. This pills of history will be told surrounded by stunning building that have been standing for centuries in an easy-going walk.
We had greatly enjoyed our time with Juan Antonio! He was very knowledgable about the history of Granada and Spain and gave us wonderful context for what we were seeing. He arranged for us to avoid the crowds and showed us not only key sites but also quiet streets and neighborhoods. Plus he provided fantastic recommendations for lunch and a churro snack!
Our tour with Juan Antonio was wonderful and he gave us a great insight into the history and layout of Granada. He took the time to understand our interests and tailored his information to reflect this. He showed us the key sights and what to come back to in more detail. He also showed us where to get a taxi to the Alhambra for the following day and gave us some restaurant recommendations. I had a wonderful tour with Juan Antonio today of this fascinating city. We walked through the old part of town, the Alcaiceria, the Albaicin neighborhood and up to the Mirador de San Nicolás from where I had amazing views of the Alhambra and mountains in the background. It shows that Juan Antonio is passionate about what he does, sharing the history in a truly inspiring and engaging way, bringing its history to life. It is such a wonderful way to experience Granada and I highly recommend this tour!
