Hello! My name is Blanca, and I am an architect with a PhD specializing in heritage, urban studies, and Andalusi architecture. My story is deeply intertwined with Granada and the Alhambra, as I come from one of the few families who have lived within its ancient walls for generations. A combination of beauty and magic, Albaicin and the Alhambra, guided by a local expert, an architect, who can reveals all the secrets for you. Did you know that in Granada we have two cities? Yes, the Alhambra and Granada. I propose you to visit both of them and enjoy the main highlights. The exotic city of the Alhambra and the Arabic Granada. We will travel through the origins of Granada, to understand the different periods and why in the 13th century the Muslim dynasty of the Nasrids decided to build their own city, a Royal city. We will walk across the narrow and magic streets of the Albaicin, stoping in the places with the best views to the Alhambra. After this, I will take you to discover the Alhambra with me. I belong to one of the families that are still living inside the citadel. Would you miss the opportunity to discover the secrets with a real local?
Blanca’s exceeded all our expectations. Her knowledge and her ability to convey it through graphics and “chalk talk “ type presentations is unique and compelling. Blanca was exceptional. The entire day was efficiently planned to give us the historical knowledge and beauty of Granada and the Alhambra. In preplanning, she gave information on the positive and negatives of the available transportation to Granada. At our meeting, Blanca introduced us to the area with large historical maps and gave background to the three major periods of the Alhambra, so that the architecture could be understood from an Arab and Christian cultural and time line perspectives. As a listener and learner, we were able to comprehend the Arab design and art, as well as how to read some repeated Arabic words and how the gardens reflected their thought. We experienced knowledge of the Arab’s modesty in support of architecture and family. Ultimately, it was Blanca's enthusiasm that made the difference. A great day.

Although this is a walking tour, we begin by taking a taxi to the San Cristóbal viewpoint, located high above the city center. This allows us to start the tour at the top and enjoy a leisurely walk downhill, making it more comfortable for everyone. After exploring the Albaicín and arriving at the city center, we can decide together whether to walk up to the Alhambra or take another taxi for convenience.
