Hello! My name is Jose and I am in love with the city of Granada where I was born. Thank you for viewing my profile. I would love to be your eyes in this wonderful and captivating city. I graduated from the University of Granada in 2003 with a degree in Pedagogy. I am inclined to believe in the power of education to move the world. And the best way to teach something is through the game. According to my intention, I worked as a tourist entertainer at resorts and hotel for several years. It was an experience that changes me forever because I met people from different countries and they gave me their piece of truth. As a part of the programmed activities, I started to guide to the historical areas of towns and I realized that it was my real vocation. Consequently, I continued my studies in art, history, religion, nature, . . . and I certificated as an Official Guide of Tourism. If you do whatever you love time runs really fast and my 5 years in Granada as a local guide check it. Granada is plenty of monuments, picturesque places, and charming locations. Every step in Granada is a new sigh and you will be more haunted. Let me connect you with the magic of this city. Due to I am a local I have a lot of resources to plan personal tours and combine them with musical or gastronomic experiences. All my tours are private and they could be customized following your personal interests or ideas My clients usually describe me as an enthusiastic and passionate guide and I personally agree. On another hand, I consider myself an open-minded and tolerant person with a sense of humor and good communication skills. It will be a pleasure to show you the city that even the light loves! "What a big job Leave the light to Granada! It is entangled among the cypresses or hiding underwater" Federico García Lorca Degree in Pedagogy (University of Granada) Official License for guiding in Granada (GT-3692) Course of Tour Leader (Orientta-Granada) Language Credential in English (Official Language School in Granada) Expert in Tourist Entertainment (Hotel-School Bellamar. Marbella (Málaga)) 5 years of professional experience as a Local Guide I am a licensed guide for all the monuments in Granada I can arrange a car and driver for you only fully licensed vehicles No restrictions

The Albayzin is the foundational and historic neighborhood of the city of Granada. Through its narrow and labyrinthine streets, we find ourselves every time we get lost. It preserves its Moorish heritage in the layout of its streets, the fragrance of its citrus trees, and the privacy and mystery of its typical houses "Carmenes". My tour of the town's World Heritage sites is intimately linked to the Alhambra and without which it could not be fully understood. Its innumerable fountains, alleys, street mosaics, and viewpoints to the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada make it a walk of constant surprise. In this tour, I will make you travel to the medieval era through its streets and buildings to understand the way of life of the most important cultural period of Granada. We will visit monuments from the andalusi culture like palatine residences, Arab bath, warehouse for merchants and we will discover how the city changed with the Christian transformation through the Moorish churches, convents and noble houses.
There are many ways to plan the itinerary since the Albaicin is an authentic labyrinth of streets. According to your preferences we could: -Start on foot from a central place in Granada like Plaza Nueva - Meet at your hotel to take a taxi and arrive at the highest location of Albaicin. Walk downhill to visit the highlights and Islamic monuments. - Make a snack break to have a drink in a tea room or terrace overlooking the Alhambra. As a local guide I have many resources to customize this tour according to your interests. Please do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour. Please note that Albayzin has some cobblestone streets and there are also some stairs. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
