El Escorial Monastery & Valley of the fallen Private Tour

Starting in Madrid we will drive Nort-west to get, in around 50 minutes, to the village of San Lorenzo del Escorial where the unique Monastery stands. This Monastery was commissioned in the 16th Century by the powerful King Felipe II. You will get to know all the history about it visiting the Basilica, Library, Monks Chapters, Royal Residence and of course the Mausoleum.

The Monastery is now one of the UNESCO sites in Spain.

After that we will drive to the Valley of the Fallen, this huge construction built to commemorate Spanish soldiers who died during the Spanish Civil War (1936 to 1939). The amazing Basílica de la Santa Cruz del Valle de los Caídos is carved into the mountain and leaves no one indifferent.

The tour will finish back at your hotel in Madrid.
