Welcome to Granada! My name is Guillermo and I'm an Official Tour Guide in this unique town. After I finished my degree in Tourism in 2008, I worked in a couple of tourist information offices and also as a receptionist in three different hotels. But finally in 2013, I focused on my dream, to become to be a tour guide and I'm cheerful with my decision. Costumer-oriented work showing Granada's heritage is a privilege and a gift that I transmit with passion and dedication. Luckily, I was born and raised in Granada and I'm blessed to have my job where I've been living during my entire live. Concretely I've spent part of my childhood in the Albayzín and I think that's a huge advantage for me, because I've been learning how to guide in Granada because of my own experiences. After guiding for the last 12 years and collaborating with Tours By Locals since 2017, each tour that I can guide is a new opportunity to meet interesting people that decided to visit our lovely city. When I have some free time I love travelling abroad, visiting new countries, for the moment 38 and counting. In my opinion, to be a tour guide is much more than walking and talking, it's about sharing knowledge and experiences, if you really enjoy what you do, everything is easier, that's my philosophy. If the typical tour is NOT in your plans, then I'll be your local tour guide. - Degree in Tourism (Higher School of Tourism Alhamar de Granada - Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia UNED) - Official Tour Guide in Andalusia (Andalusian Government) - Junta de Andalucía - Languages Credentials in English (Cambridge University Press & Assessment) and in Italian (Società Dante Alighieri) I am a licensed guide, and have no restrictions.

The Alhambra of Granada is considered to be the best preserved Muslim fortress of Europe, and one of the best of the world. It's a unique place, full of gardens and palaces, where it is possible to get lost in the history, the Middle Ages and also the Renaissance. An amazing combination of the Orient and Occident art in the last Islamic kingdom of the Iberian Peninsula. So many nooks full of history, where I'd be delighted to show and also to reveal the secrets that it keeps within the walls. And small citadel that was the capital of one of the most important territories of our history, which is linked to year of 1492, the conquest of Granada and the discovery of America, the end of one dynasty and the beginning of a new empire. For me, this place is my second home, where I spend most of my life. I really feel comfortable here, and I'd like to share this feeling with you, an unforgettable experience.

Guillermo L. was a most knowledgeable guide to take us through the Alhambra of Granada. He has a good grasp of English and had many interesting stories to tell. I highly recommend Guillermo L. for your travels. Thanks, Guillermo
Outstanding tour! Thank you Guillermo! We had the pleasure of spending the morning with Guillermo on a fabulous private tour of the Alhambra in Granada today. Both the tour and our guide were wonderful. He gave us a comprehensive and fascinating look into the history, culture and architecture of this amazing palace complex. Guillermo made the tour a truly enjoyable experience and we recommend him to everyone.
Our guide was absolutely fantastic! His knowledge and expertise was demonstrated throughout our tour. He took us on a historic journey threading history and storytelling that helped meld an amazing place to visit. The time, care , exploration of this beautiful heritage place was so appreciated by us ! He invested in our knowledge and we learned so much ! The time flew by! I encourage you with great enthusiasm to choose Gullermo.. guide 22420. Don’t miss him… He is fantastic!
We had a wonderful tour of Alhambra with Guillermo. When I first reached out to him tickets were sold out the day of our visit on the website, and he was able to help us secure tickets and a timed entry to the Nasrid Palaces. He was definitely a scholar of Alhambra who shared with us so much history and details of fortress and palaces and their evolution throughout history. He was engaging, made plenty of stops for scenic views and pictures, and also navigated the crowds to find quiet spaces for talking and viewing areas. My husband and son visited Alhambra 3 years ago (this was my first visit), but they agreed having Guillermo as a guide made this visit far more enjoyable and informative than their last visit. We had a great day, and we would highly recommend Guillermo as a guide.
Guillermo gave clear instructions on where our group of 4 would meet him. He was prompt and very friendly, but above all, he was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Alhambra complex, including the gardens and palaces, We all enjoyed our visit accompanied by his stories that related the happenings there at different times in history! One story told us that Columbus accompanied Ferdinand and Isabella when the officially ended the Moorish occupation of Granada, the last outpost in Spain, as he was still working to secure funding for his explorations. Beyond that we enjoyed a lot of practical advice on restaurants, routes and neighborhoods that helped us plan our one long day in Granada! All in all, one of our favorite guided tours.
- I start at the main entrance - I make a historical introduction - I enter to the monument visiting: * The Generalife (Summer Residence and Gardens) * Charles V Palace (Reinassance Palace) * The Alcazaba (Old fortress) * The Nasrid Palaces (Mexuar, Comares and Lions) - During the visit I leave free time for having a break, the tour lasts over three hours including the stop. I am more than willing to customize this tour according to your preferences, please contact me for a customized tour. - I recommend to wear comfortable shoes, because we walk on red clay pathways, cobble-stone floors and also asphalt, even we find some steps during the visit but are not so complicated.
