Hola!, I’m Maica — your local, licensed guide in Barcelona. I’m a Barcelona-born and deeply passionate about sharing my city in a personal, meaningful, and enjoyable way. I grew up surrounded by art and creativity — my father was a painter and my brother is an architect — and that early influence shaped how I see Barcelona today: not just as a beautiful city, but as a living story full of art, history, and local life. After spending seven years in Scotland working as a tour guide and a Spanish teacher, I returned home to Barcelona and turned my true passion into my full-time profession. Today, guiding is not just my job — it’s what I love most. * Why tour with me? ✔ 100% private & tailor-made tours Every traveler is different, and so is every tour I design. I adapt each experience to your interests, pace, and travel style — whether you love art, architecture, history, food, or simply wandering like a local. We will negotiate the best experience to fill your expectations and I'll be happy to customize the best tour for you. ✔ Fully licensed guide with priority access As an official licensed guide, I have premium access to monuments and museums, helping you avoid long lines and make the most of your time — because vacations should be smooth and stress-free. ✔ Engaging, clear, and entertaining storytelling I’m also a language teacher and professional storyteller, so my explanations are dynamic, easy to follow, and never boring. Guests often tell me they feel like they’re discovering the city with a knowledgeable local friend. ✔ Beyond the highlights Along with Barcelona’s must-see landmarks, I’ll introduce you to off-the-beaten-path places, hidden corners, and everyday local life — the kind of details that make a trip truly unforgettable. *Who I tour? I happily guide couples, families, solo travelers, and small groups. As a mother, I’m especially experienced in making tours engaging for families as well. I also regularly lead shore excursions and private day tours. * Credentials: - Fully Licensed Tour Guide (Catalan Government license nº 2435) - Member of Barcelona Guide Bureau - Member of AGUICAT (Association for quality and sustainable tourism) - Specialized training in Gaudí, Art History, and Catalan artists (Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Domènech i Montaner) - Msc In Applied Linguistics - Degree in Hispanic & English Studies ✨ It is my pleasure to help you discover Barcelona through the eyes of a local and create memories you’ll carry with you long after your trip ends. I look forward to meeting you in Barcelona! Maica I don’t drive during tours, but I can easily arrange private transportation with a premium car or van if needed.

1882 the first stone of Sagrada Familia is set. No one imagined its repercussion. Today, construction continues and Sagrada Familia has become the image of Barcelona. Antoni Gaudí worked 43 years on it and left it unfinished for future architects, sculptures and engineers to complete it. I will make you FEEL the site: every time I step in the Basilica I get goose bumps and you will get them too. Never mind how many photos you have already seen or how good they are, any pays tribute. Sagrada Familia is a personal experience and an unforgettable one. I will express my passion to the site and explain its past, its present and its future so you will realize the huge architectonic challenge it implies and will be amazed by the creative ingenuity of Gaudí who wanted to bring nature to humanity through architecture. Attention! This tour depends on Sagrada Familia's availability, which is beyond my control!! ASK ME BEFORE BOOKING!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! I will need your names in order to buy the tickets!!!!!
We will start in a park opposite the temple to take the best photo of the site and where an introduction will be given. Then we will enter and proceed as follows: - Nativity Façade, the one Gaudí did during his lifetime. - Inside the Basilica. - Pasión Façade, finished in 1982. - The School that Gaudi built for the children's workers. - Museum to know better the architect and his modus operandi. After the tour you can stay as long as you want inside the church. Attention: - Do not book this tour without asking about the Temple's availability to avoid dissapointments. - The availability of this tour can be affected by Mass celebrations. - Dress code : Shoulders covered and shorts and skirts close to knee length. Tour run rain or shine.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
