A Sanctuary that is more than a place of worship: it has always symbolized the identity of the Catalan people. Recently, I had the opportunity to know the Benedictine community that in 2025 celebrates the 1000 years of its foundation (today more than 50 monks!!!). It is a must to greet the Black Madonna, Patroness Saint of Catalonia. But it is not only a spiritual mountain, it is a natural reserve too; we will reach the top of the mountain by funicular, an experience in itself. Going hiking (optional) we will enjoy the magnificent views: the Pyrenees Mountains (border with France) and to admire the peculiar shapes of the rocks and peaks of Montserrat, which inspired Gaudí in its Sagrada Familia. It is a tradition to taste the typical home-made food at the Farmers' market like "Mel I Mató". Here you'll have the chance to try some traditional food and taste local savours! The abbey every day is full field by the angelical voices of the boys' choir, the oldest in Europe! Let's be delighted by them.
Out tour with Francesc was amazing! He is knowledgeable, fun, and smart. He presented us so much information in an engaging and meaningful way. We really enjoyed our day with him. Don't miss the Gaudi Crypt at Colonia Guell. This is an overlooked site and it is worth the drive! Thank you Francesc for an excellent tour and fun day.

We had the absolute pleasure of going to Montserrat with Francisc! What a fantastic tour guide and all around great guy. He shared lots of good intimate details about what we were seeing and the symbolism of the culture all the way from the time he picked us up until we were dropped back off again and all the way through our time at Montserrat. His knowledge is unparalleled and his kindness shines through at every turn. He was great with our 9yo and 14yo boys and kept them engaged. He timed our visit perfectly so that we had front row seats at the boys choir. It was very memorable and I cannot recommend this tour and tour guide enough.

When we learned that the boys' choir was away on tour, Francesc didn't miss a beat. He thoughtfully adapted the day and took us to an incredible Gaudí church in a small town on the way back to Barcelona—an unexpected highlight we would never have discovered on our own. Knowledgeable, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with, Francesc made this a very memorable experience!

Trip to Montserrat which is an hour driving time away from Barcelona. I will take advantage of our trip to introduce Catalonia, our economy, history and Montserrat. - Basilica of Montserrat: interior and visit to the Madonna. - Funicular to reach the top (hiking is optional) / or Art museum (I recommend the funicular) - To taste the typical crafts at the Farmers' market. - To listen the boys' choir of Montserrat. - Possibility to take the Cable Car or Rack Railway on our return journey.

Note: The vehicle is offered free of charge in order to allow us to get to the places of the tour. If you prefer a Chauffeured Mercedes Sedan or van (capacity up to 7 adults + me + 1 driver), please let me know and I'll create a customized tour for you. A minibus is necessary if you are more than 7 travelers.
