It is my favorite place in Spain — so much so that I spent time studying with the monks of Montserrat myself. When we visit the Monastery and the Black Madonna, I don’t just explain what you see — I share stories of daily monastic life, spirituality, and the living traditions that still shape this sanctuary. Basilica & La Moreneta Inside the Basilica, we see La Moreneta — the Black Madonna — from within the church. If you wish to get closer, we can arrange access accordingly. Escolania Boys’ Choir If available during our visit, we focus on attending the 1:00 PM performance. Hearing one of Europe’s oldest boys’ choirs in this sacred setting is often the most moving moment of the day. Panoramic Walk A gentle walk to the Cross of Saint Michael offers the best views over the valley and monastery. Return to Barcelona We head back with a deeper understanding of Montserrat’s spiritual and cultural significance.
