Hi, my name is Cayetano. I am a licensed guide from Barcelona, born and raised here. I have been working in the hospitality and tourism for almost 27 years, mainly in hotels and tour companies in Spain, South East Asia and the United States. Twelve years ago I decided to become a professional tour guide and passed the exams that allow me to work as a licensed tour guide not only in Barcelona but also in Catalonia. I hold a bachelor's degree in Art History and a second bachelor's degree in Business (Hospitality and Tourism). This solid background allows me to deliver a top notch service and exceed the expectations of my clients. I love my job, I love my hometown Barcelona and I love my country, Catalonia. It is always a pleasure to share my knowledge about my country and my hometown with visitors coming from all around the world. I would like to be your host during your stay in Barcelona, please feel free to write me if you have any question about my the tours posted on ToursByLocals or if you don't find on my site what you are looking for. Visit the unfinished Basilica designed by Antoni Gaudi with a private tour guide to discover the mysteries and riddles created by Gaudi during more than 44 years: the roman soldier with 6 toes in one of his feet, the hidden sudoku on Passion Façade where all the possible combinations make the age of Jesus when he died. The construction of Sagrada Familia started in 1882 and it is still unfinished after 133 years of construction. During the tour will know the reasons why it is still unfinished, when it will be finished and who is paying the construction of Sagrada Familia. You will see what's already built and what's still left. Antoni Gaudi was a very religious person and very soon this project became the most important work of his life. We will enter into Gaudi's mind to understand his faith and courage to finish a basilica that wouldn't look like any other church around the world.
Cayetano was friendly and courteous. He was knowledgeable and his presentation of the history and details of the Sagrada Família was organized and personalized to our questions and areas of interest. We enjoyed our tour very much and recommend Cayetano with full confidence.
Ayer año was an excellent guide, and we have had many. His communication beforehand and during the tour was great. He is very professional and knows how to move around and find good spots to talk or for photos. He is a local and has a deep understanding of the culture and history. The Sagrada Família is a wonderful place and we enjoyed it so much more with the guidance of Cayetano. We definitely recommend him.
Best tour!!! Cayetano is a Barcelona native and his passion for the history and culture are contagious. Highly knowledgeable and personable, Cayetano communicated well and tailored the tour to our family's interests. Our questions were addressed effectively and we didn't feel rushed at any point. Cayetano was kind enough to take some excellent photos on our phones inside Sagrada Familia and gave us good tips for our trip to Costa Brava the next day.
clients I booked really enjoyed the tour
Cayetano was amazing. His knowledge, passion, and overall appreciation of such a beautiful place blew my wife and I away. He truly made our experience magical.
Cayetano was a very engaging and knowledgeable tour guide. He was always prompt with communications and made sure our tickets were secured during the busy summer holidays and the dates around the total solar eclipse.
