Old Town Barcelona with Food Tasting - Walking Tour with a Chef

Thought there would be more food tasting opportunities along the way given initial itinerary - wasn’t planning on lunch to be part of tour. That was fine but not communicated in initial itinerary. Violeta did share interesting historical tidbits with us that we would not have learned otherwise.

We enjoyed our culinary tour of Old Town Barcelona with Violetta. She customized the tour to our preferences and took us to get the best churros in town and to an very good tapas restaurant that caters more to locals than tourists. She is very knowledgable about the Gothic Quarter and showed us many things we would not have seen (or known what we were looking at) on our own. My husband, adult daughter and I really enjoyed the tour!

We loved our tour with Violetta. It was like spending the morning with an old friend. If you enjoy food and want to learn about Barcelona then spend time with Violetta!

Violetta was wonderful! She met us in our hotel lobby and then took us on a very interesting walking tour of the old city. We enjoyed a fun lunch at a family owned and run restaurant where Violetta recommended local dishes! YUM! We also tried churros at another bakery which were delicious! Violetta shared interesting history and stories about the things we saw! She answered questions and shared feedback on where we should eat dinner and shop for specific items we were looking for! Highly recommend!

it was an amazing tour and the perfect blend of Barcelona city and the culinary the lights that made the city. We toured through all of the old town, sampled, renowned bakery treats, then a tapas restaurant with all homemade items we sampled local candies and a famous local spot for silverfish, followed by another amazing restaurant of local foods and tastes. Her timing for our stroll was perfect. As she talked about the city, we would come around a turn, and there would be the item we were talking about then we would move on have a food item and move on to the next famous attraction in the city. I have toured many cities, and I would put this lady at the top of the list. She is highly recommended and is a very nice and pleasant lady to be around. Very impressed!
