This is a walk through 1500 years of the history of Barcelona and its key places. From Roman Barcino to the splendor of the Kingdom of Aragon and Catalunya that dominated the Mediterranean sea between the XII and XIV centuries. During this 4 hour walking tour we will explore the narrow and winding alleys that compose the medieval part of Barcelona. Those streets and alleys were not built to be driven by cars so the best way to explore this section of the city is on foot. We will see palaces, romanesque churches built more than one thousand years ago, the XIV century Barcelona's cathedral with its cloister and We will walk through the old jewish quarter. We don't have to forget about the roman remains: tombs, remains of the old wall and the temple dedicated to Augustus.
Cayetano V was an excellent guide in Barcelona for my clients a multi generation family. They were late getting to the hotel due to EES yet he managed to get them to Sagrada Familia on time. His knowledge of Barcelona, Gaudi and Sagrada Familia was very thorough and they appreciated his enthusiasm would recommend.

Great tour exploring the Roman and Medieval side of Barcelona with our knowledgable guide Cayetano. With our limited time available to explore the city, he shared so much within the walls of the Old City on the areas of our interest this time. My husband & I had a wonderful four hour walking tour of the Gothic quarter with Cayetano. His knowledge of the history of Barcelona was phenomenal. He took his time at different spots to explain architectural features or stories related to what we were seeing. It was a relaxed tour & we didn’t feel rushed. We were so glad to have him show us around his beautiful city, which he clearly loves.

This is mainly a walking tour, Old City Barcelona was not built to be driven by cars or mini vans, the streets and alleys are very narrow. Most of the streets we will explore are just for pedestrians. All the streets are paved and we can avoid steps by using ramps. We shall use taxi/subway/private transportation to go to the starting point of the tour or to get back to your hotel/apartment/cruise ship terminal (transportation is not included in the price of the tour).
