Hello! My name is Filipa and I am a Certified Tour Guide in Lisbon and its surroundings. Living in such a beautiful city has led my parents to impart me with principles of valorization of heritage and history from a very young age, probably having taken me to every museum and palace there was to be visited! Thus, I believe this might be the reason why I appreciate and enjoy history so much. Added to my love for communication and languages, it only made sense to pursue my dream job of being a Tour Guide. I have an undergraduate degree in Tourism Information, where my classes were mostly focused on Portuguese history, art, culture, geography, as well as interpersonal skills, storytelling, and leadership. I have been working as a tour guide since 2015, first focusing on tours around the country and in most recent years, around Lisbon's metropolitan area. I went back to University to "conquer" my Master's Degree in Strategic Management of Tourism Destinations, which has instilled me with even more insight on destinations, tour planning and management. Both my academic and professional experience have given me awareness of my role as leader, interpreter and mediator between the tourists and the destinations. Therefore, I take my profession very seriously whilst showing a lot of passion for what I do. Overview of your Lisbon tour
We will start our tour by crossing the often-called 'Portuguese Golden Gate Bridge', heading to the sanctuary of Christ the King, a monument inspired by Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. From here, we will have the most breathtaking viewpoint over the city of Lisbon, where we can see many of its hills, squares and monuments. Then we will visit one of the very few glazed tiles workshops, where tiles are still being produced the traditional way - by hand. Here you will even get the possibility of not just admiring the tiles, but getting your hands dirty by helping them with the preparation of the clay! We will have a panoramic drive through Arrábida mountain, a natural park, whose roads meander the coast while overlooking some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. The next destination will be Setúbal, a port city that has been important since the Roman establishment. Here we will suggest a place for you to have lunch, and before returning to Lisbon, we will explore this dynamic city.
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
Firstly, I'll pick you up from an arranged location in the city center. We'll then start the tour by going to the Sanctuary of Christ the King - overlooking Lisbon. Then we will stop at Azeitão, where we will visit a glazed tiles' workshop. After, we will have a panoramic view through the Arrábida Mountain, with a photo stop. We will suggest a nice place for you to have lunch and then we will explore Setúbal before returning to Lisbon.
