Olá! My name is Bruno, I'm 41. I was born in Sintra, the most beautiful town in Portugal! As biased as I may sound, I grew up with my grandparents in the countryside. They were very passionate people from the North of Portugal and always showed me how beautiful it is when you let yourself go and fall in love with the place you live. Growing up with my grandparents, who used to sell bread door to door on a bike, interacting with people daily was in their DNA. By tagging along with them and doing simple things like going to a local food market, I was always amazed at how they interacted with everyone, from vendors to friends. I feel that was the spark I needed to thoroughly enjoy being with people and having this impending need to socialize and be in touch with the human side of everyone that I meet. I do love the history, sights, and culture of my beautiful country, but I feel like connecting with people on a more human level is what brings me joy as a tour guide. With that in mind, I decided to accept the challenge of being part of ToursByLocals. We will not only discover the vast history of Portugal but also visit places that hold a special place in my heart, filled with fond memories from my younger days when my grandparents used to take me there. This is something I believe I can best achieve through private tours, which is why I chose to partner with ToursByLocals—a place I consider 'by people, for people. Our time with Bruno was a highlight of our Lisbon trip. His bright personality, his narratives about the sites and himself personally, and clear organization of the day while also being flexible, were all key aspect to a wonderful time in his comfortable and clean vehicle. What a spectacular day with our local guide, Bruno. From the moment he picked us up in his very nice small passenger van from the last stop in Cascais, it was amazing. Private tours are the way to go and Bruno was from the area and knew all the history and made our day very interesting and engaging. The places he took us were all beautiful and he gave us free time to walk around and explore. We can highly recommend Bruno for your next adventure when in Portugal.
Bruno was one of the best guides we have ever enjoyed over all our travels! We spent the day with him in Sintra - an amazing place! Bruno's command of English was excellent, and all of our group could hear and understand him well. He planned ahead so that we arrived at the Pena Palace ahead of most of the large tour busses. We toured Pena Palace, Old Town Sintra (with tips on how to beat the lines to purchase their famous pastries), Cabo Da Roca (western most point on the European continent) and the “Riveria” resort town of Cascais. Bruno is very personable and obviously enjoys what he does. Our group of six highly recommends him!
This was the tour we had hoped for! And this was the Guide! Bruno, you made the landscapes and history come alive, we cannot express how much we feel that YOU made this day SO FUN ! He is by far our TOP rated tour guide of the the tours we have ever done, and yes we have done ALOT. He is easy going , Knowledgeable, funny, joking, serious, safe, and considerate. Traveling in Portugal for the first time as a family—two adults, two children, and two grandparents—we had a perfect visit to Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais with Bruno. He communicated clearly beforehand to help with palace tickets and the itinerary, was punctual, easy to speak with, and very knowledgeable. He recommended delicious places to eat and was extremely accommodating when we fell behind schedule at Quinta da Regaleira. I highly recommend booking a tour with Bruno!!
