This tour will take you to the best hill top views such as Sao Pedro de Alcantara hill top view or Portas do Sol. You can experience an elevator or funicular ride so that we don't get tired going up the hill. I'll take you through the oldest and most labyrinthine district of Lisbon - Alfama - created by the Moors but also inhabited by Jews and Catholics at a time, a real melting pot. There you'll have the impression that we're lost just like the pirates were when they would go inside that 8th century maze trying to get the city. We'll go through the shopping area of Baixa and also through the lively Chiado neighborhood. In all of it you will breathe the old and modern and most of all you'll feel the unique Portuguese everyday life: people going to work, older people chatting in the squares and coffee-shops, you'll feel the authentic, warm and welcoming Portuguese. All I can say is WOW! We have been on many tours, Gloria was our favorite guide! We had such a great day in Lisbon listening to and learning from Gloria. Our guide was exceptional - Knowledgeable, pleasant and incredibly organized. She arranged last-minute transport for those of us who had difficulty climbing the hills, ensuring everyone could enjoy the beautiful sights. Additionally, her recommendations for great restaurants and shopping areas were spot on, enhancing our experience even further. She also showed us some convenient shortcuts, which allowed us to see various places on our own more efficiently. Overall, our family had a fantastic time in Portugal, thanks to our amazing guide, Gloria.
Very interactive and well thought out for my personal needs and wishes
Our morning with Gloria was our 19th Tours by Locals experience and our BEST yet! She is lovely to spend a day with - super accommodating/flexible and determined to help in anyway she can. Gloria asked us first thing what we were interested in and then proceeded to deliver exactly the guided exploration of Lisbon we wished for. We were looking for a little history but mostly culture and she delivered exactly that. You absolutely cannot go wrong selecting Gloria…she’s literally the best.

We can just walk or also use public transportation like the traditional tram, elevator or funicular. If you prefer we can use a taxi instead of public transportation. Each taxi accomodates a total of 5 persons: driver+guide+visitors.
