Olá! I'm Alexandra, a storyteller inspired by history... and a few myths. Over 30 years ago, I moved to Lisbon after spending my childhood in Switzerland. Exploring different cultures, learning new languages, and traveling opened my eyes to what I truly wanted: a life as a full-time wanderer. Living in this stunning country and region has made that dream a reality. Deep knowledge of my region’s history, traditions, and culture is essential to be an excellent host, local expert, or guide. Fortunately, I embody all of these roles. I’m a guide by profession, a local expert by passion, and a host by empathy. Since 2013, I’ve fully committed to this calling, welcoming every traveler as if they were family or close friends. Understanding that travel is a time for relaxation and discovery, I aim to make our journey enjoyable and engaging. Rather than overwhelming you, I share just the right amount of my knowledge to enrich your experience while immersing you in new cultures and stories. **Credentials & Qualifications** •License No. 492/2015, issued by the Portuguese Tourism Office •History of the Arts by Antonio Arroio School of Arts •Professional Photography Course by the Portuguese Institute of Photography •Interpretation of Cultural Heritage by Tourism School •Touristic Animation by Tourism of Portugal •Every year, I participate in retraining programs and learn from various recognized organizations to continuously improve my skills and stay updated in my field. **Accessibility Note** Some destinations may not be suitable for those with mobility challenges. From the north to the south of the country, we have religious temples, built in different eras, in honor of different saints, ordered for different purposes. I often say that in Portugal, if something good happened, a church, convent or monastery was built. If something bad happened. . . guess what? A church, a convent or a monastery was built! We will explore the heritage left behind in the form of legends and architecture, from the most remote to the most recent, the fusion of everyday life as told through history, with the religious richness, grandeur and importance of the Atlantic Ocean. Fátima: the small town of Ourem, where the belief in the apparition of our lady shaped the development of the town, now dedicated to our Lady of Fátima. Nazaré: where time has transformed it from a village of the miracle of the Sitio to a fishing village and now a surfing village with the biggest waves ever surfed in the world. Óbidos: where time has merged history, religion, crafts, gastronomy and literature.
• Pick up in Lisbon (or region) and drive to Fátima (about 1h15m) • Fátima: Here we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, the Basilica of the Holy Trinity and the Chapel of the Apparitions. Time to attend a service and light a candle. •Lunch break in Nazaré by the beach and old town. • Nazaré: visit to Sitio da Nazaré where the Chapel of Remembrance and Church of Our Lady of Nazaré are located, with stunning views over the fishing town. Fort of S. Miguel and lighthouse for ocean view and (possibly) the giant waves. • Óbidos: visit of the town and fortification. Time to taste the traditional liqueur and stroll through the alleys sided by the traditional commerce of local artisans. •Back to Lisbon, which will take us about an hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic and your drop off location. •Please note this tour can be customized. •Use the 'message guide' button to contact me for a customized tour.
