Hello! My name is Luis Paulo and I have been working as a Tour Guide for 20 years! I have a Bachelor's degree in tourism and a postgraduate degree in Tour Guiding completed in Lisbon. I am a certified guide and authorized to guide tourists in national monuments within Portugal. In the city of Fátima, there is one of the most famous Roman Catholic Sanctuaries in the world, located just one and an half hour away from Lisbon. A place of devotion that attracts millions of pilgrims and curious people every year. During this tour, I will give you more details about the history of the place, the context and how the apparitions of the Virgin Mary occurred, as well as who were the 3 children who witnessed this phenomenon. Throughout this tour, you will visit the small village of Aljustrel, where the 3 little shepherds lived and you will have time to see the Sanctuary of Fátima and its many attractions.
Luis gave us a fabulous tour of Fatima!! He was well versed in the history of Fatima and was able to answer the multitude of questions we had. He gave us all the time we needed to see all the spots we wanted. He was a perfect guide and we had a perfect day! Thank you Luis!
We could not have asked for a better tour or a better guide for this half-day trip to Fatima. From our first meeting, Luis-Paolo was pleasant and quite personable and spoke English fluently and plainly, as well as knowledgable of the events and persons involved with the 1917 apparitions at Fatima. He could advise us as to which shops were perhaps a little better and where we all could break for a drink and light lunch. We were happy that we had booked him two days later for another tour around Lisbon. We would certainly use him again should we have an opportunity to return to Portugal.
This was a wonderful tour and Luis did an excellent job.
If a 10 star rating were available, I would give that rating without hesitation. Luis was wonderful. From the first message I sent to inquire about customizing a trip to Fatima, to the minute we said goodbye, he was wonderful and patient. My mother and I enjoyed every minute with Luis. He made sure that we saw all the important sites in Fatima-and he is VERY knowledgeable about the area. His restaurant recommendation was perfect for a chilly evening and he ensured that we timed everything perfectly for the candlelight procession. Knowing the importance of Fatima to us because we are Catholic, he offered suggestions about attending Mass, and timing a visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima so that we would be able to see the tombs of the saints. It was a day we will never forget! I highly recommend Luis if you are looking for a guide for the greater Lisbon/Fatima area.

We will leave from Lisbon and after approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of travel, we will arrive at Fátima, where one of the most famous Roman Catholic Sanctuaries in the world is located. Our visit begins in Aljustrel, a small village close to the Sanctuary, where the 3 children who witnessed the apparitions of the Virgin Mary lived. You will be able to visit the houses where these children lived and gain greater knowledge about their way of life and living conditions in the past. Afterwards, we will head towards the Sanctuary, where you will have free time to visit the main buildings there, such as the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary (where Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta are buried), the Basilica of the Holy Trinity and the Museum of the Shrine of Fátima, where you can learn even more about the history of the place. After getting to know the Sanctuary and all the beauty and spirituality that surrounds it, we will drive back to Lisbon, finishing the service at your hotel.
