When we booked this tour, our cruise ship was supposed to arrive at 8:00 am. Three weeks before the tour it was changed to 10:30 arrival. Called Joao, no problem. Tour changed to 11:00. Joao drove us to Sintra and gave us a personal tour of the beautiful castle and grounds. He also treated us to coffee and pastry on the way. He was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. After the castle he dropped us off (no parking) in Sintra to explore on our own. He recommended a pastry shop to stop by. The pastry shop is the oldest in Sintra and was fabulous. Afterwards we drove to Cascais, and he showed us some sights and let us wander around the seaside town for a bit. I strongly recommend Joao if you are looking for a Sintra tour. He is kind, attentive and very knowledgeable.

I am glad I booked this tour to Sintra & Cacais for me and my friend. I am especially glad I chose João E. as our tour guide. He had no issues with working with us to customize our day. He kept saying if we were happy then he was happy. We chose to not see the inside of Pena Palace and instead use the time to tour Quinta da Regaleira instead. João purchased the tickets on our behalf. He grew up in Sintra and is a wealth of knowledge. We asked him to take us somewhere to get pastries for breakfast and he took us to Pastéis de Belém. It was our first taste of Lisbon and it couldn't have been better. His English is excellent and he was a joy to spend the day with. I recommend him to anyone who needs a private tour guide in Lisbon or Sintra.
We enjoyed our day with Joao today! We took an all day tour to see the beautiful cities of Sintra and Cascais. Joao was very attentive, made sure we were comfortable at all times and never rushed us. He arranged the visit to the palace and even went inside with us to share all kinds of information. We would not hesitate to spend another day with him!

Joao gave my wife and me an incredible day in and around Lisbon. He showed us Pena Palace as only an experienced insider can do. When we drove back to Lisbon, we had some extra time and he drove us thru the most interesting parts of the city. We both loved our day with Joao. He even bought cookies for us!!!

·We'll start in Lisbon at a prearranged meeting point. ·We'll then depart to Sintra in a journey of approximately 45 minutes. ·The first place we'll visit will be the Pena Palace, where we'll go on a guided tour inside. ·Then on arrival to Sintra, we'll will visit its historic center, with the Nacional Palace of Sintra and its traditional bakeries and shopping streets. ·Later, there will be time for lunch in a recommended venue. ·After lunch, we'll head towards Cascais, stopping at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. ·We'll continue to Cascais along the Guincho road, which was the scene of one of the James Bond's films. ·After we see a bit of Cascais, we'll return to Lisbon along the coast, passing through Estoril, the Portuguese Riviera. Sometimes, for reasons of traffic restrictions, the order of places to visit can be changed. It may also happen that the Pena Palace is closed due to the risk of fire or another valid reason.
