Sintra and Cascais Highlights - Private full day trip from Lisbon

We spent 2 great days with Rui. Yesterday was Sintra and Cascais. Today we were in Nazare and Obidos. Rui went into great detail with wonderful facts and stories about the sites we were seeing. He was also very mindful of asking us how we were doing. We came to Portugal from a long cruise; we chose to stay a few days after to experience Portugal before we left for home. The Pena Palace in Sintra is amazing! Rui brought the story to life for us. Nazare was a terrific experience… Obidos …. We loved it. Rui has the unique ability to understand when you need to be done with your touring. I highly recommend him!!!

Professional, knowledgeable and accommodating!!! This was a first class tour of Sintra with Rui M. His knowledge expanded beyond just the area of our tour to explain current events and Portuguese culture. We so appreciated Rui’s flexibility after our ship’s arrival time had to be changed. I wish he could have provided tours for all our time in Portugal!

What a wonderful day we had touring with Rui M. We saw everything we had hoped to see. He picked us at the port in Lisbon and headed straight for Pena Palace, magnificent, the historic area of Sintra is so much to see, and lots of fun. But we were on to a guided tour of Quinta da Regaleira which is stunning, so thankful, we even went down the initiation well. We even had time to visit the cathedral and have the famous pastry. Rui was so kind and willing to make it all happen. We know you will be as happy as we were, if you choose Rui M to be your guide.

Rui was excellent. He is very friendly and helpful. He is very knowledgable about the country and all the sites we visited. He adapted the trip throughout the day based on the weather, crowds and our preferences. He was very professional and made us feel very comfortable. Rui is an excellent person to book your next tour with and we very highly recommend him. Our granddaughter will be travelling to Portugal later in the year and we would like him to take her and her friends around. Thank you Rui!

Rui was a great guide. His knowledge both of geography and history made our tour go far too fast. He is a great way to learn about Lisbon.

Rui was an amazing tour guide! It started with the upfront communication before booking the tour. Rui was very helpful and very prompt to respond as we worked to build an itinerary that would be enjoyable and doable in the 8 hour window we had available. We told Rui about the three or four things that were most important to us to see, and he proposed an itinerary to help us, accommodate the things that were most important to us, while cautioning us about trying to do too much given the lines and crowds which we were certain to face. This was most welcome information! Next, he communicated well in telling us where and when he would meet us. He followed this up with excellent execution, arriving on time and putting us at ease from the very beginning of the tour. Our first tour stop was at Pena Palace. He provided some amazing “expert tips” that absolutely helped us to maximize our time visiting the site and helping to minimize the amount of time that we had to spend waiting in lines to see various parts of the palace. He was very, very knowledgeable about the site, providing wonderful historical background, and facts about the palace. After visiting the palace, Rui gave us excellent recommendations about other places to see you within Sintra, including possible places to shop or get something to eat. After leaving Sintra, we went to the Lisbon area to see several of the sites within the city. Rui again had excellent knowledge about the entire area, for which we were so thankful. Our last stop on the tour was a wonderful viewpoint from a very high hill in the city. What a great place to conclude our tour! Rui’s English was outstanding! Of course he had an accent, but it wasn’t “thick”, so our conversations were easy and thorough. Besides the technical parts of his tour guiding skills, Rui was probably an even better person! Such a warm, kind and thoughtful man! We couldn’t have asked for a better person to spend the day with. We had great conversations about his family, his life, his history in the area – – what more could you ask for from a guide?! He was just so incredibly wonderful to be around for the entire day, making our experience in Lisbon and Sintra simply fantastic!
