Hi! Welcome to my site! I am a professional, registered tour guide with a passion for my country especially Budapest and the Danube Bend. I was born and raised in Budapest, our capital city and now I live in Nagymaros, a small quiet town located in the Danube Bend just opposite Visegrád. And of course I consider myself very lucky 'cause I feel at home in Budapest just as much as in the Danube Bend. I am also extremely lucky and proud to have gained firsthand knowledge from historians and archeologists through my many years of studies. And I'm here to share it all with you but beware: my passion can be contagious. :) There's so much to see and do in Budapest and in the Danube Bend so I've put together a list of tours offering the best of every city. Buda and Pest have so much to offer it's hard to know where to begin. Even if you only plan to spend a couple of days in Hungary there are sights that shouldn't be missed eg. the Buda Castle District one of the most beautiful and romantic parts of the city with famous sights like the Matthias Church or the Fishermen's Bastion. But if you have more time I'd suggest visiting the countryside: the Danube Bend is less than an hour away from Budapest & it's one of Hungary's most frequently visited regions blessed with breathtaking scenery and fabulous architecture of different historical eras. Szentendre and Visegrád offer hours of fascination for visitors curious about the country's rich medieval history, castles, palaces and churches not to mention the fine restaurants, handmade crafts and art. There are so many stories and so much to see that I can't wait to show it all to you! :) Check out my tours and don't forget that all of them can be altered to suit your needs and interests. My -very much loved - job is to make your day special so join me on a trip to remember! :) I am a professional tour guide, registered by the Hungarian Trade Licensing Office. I also have the license to guide in the History Museum, Budapest Dohany Street Synagogue Rumbach Synagogue and the Basilica of Esztergom.

Overview of your Budapest tour

Visiting the Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Fishermen's Bastion and the famous Matthias Fountain is a must, but the Castle District has so much more to offer. There are dozens of stunning buildings well hidden but well worth a visit that most tourists (even Hungarians) just walk by without even noticing. Did you know that there used to be two Jewish quarters in the Buda Castle area? Would you like to know which building was used as the SS headquarters during WW2? Or how the Maria Magdalena Tower - the only remaining part of the church - survived the war and the Communist regime? Have you heard of the fascinating underground cave system and the hospital that also functioned as a shelter during WW2 and the 1956 Freedom Fights? I'll tell you about the exciting excavation works and finds of this area and show you WW2 photos so you can have a glimpse into our past whilst exploring the present. This tour will give you a rich historical experience from the medieval past through the wars to the present day.

Your Budapest tour itinerary

We'll start on the royal side of the Castle district with the Palace and its surrounding buildings. Have a coffee break (or lunch if you prefer) before continuing our walk to the residential area of the Castle district. Please choose from the following options: Option 1: Matthias Church, the most famous church in Buda. You will love its history and the unique and spectacular interior. Option 2: visit the 14th century Medieval Jewish Prayer House that was forgotten for centuries and discovered only in the 196os. (closed on Mondays and Saturdays) Option 3: for a special WW2 experience join a 6o-minute guided tour in the Hospital in the Rock bunker hospital. Please note that the temperature is much cooler down there so make sure you wear appropriate clothing. At the end of the tour, if you wish I'll accompany you back to the hotel.
