As I have always lived in Budapest I can introduce it to you through the eye of a native Hungarian. My guiding experience includes working for top hotels and caring for private clients of Viking River Cruises, Amawaterways and Tauck River Cruises. For most of my adult life I have been a wondering, wandering academic full of wanderlust. I'm passionate about travel, very fond of meeting fellow travellers, photography, driving to new places, learning on the way and returning to old favourites with new eyes. I have spent 7 years in the US and Germany working for cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean and Holland America. Having returned I realized that guiding was my vocation and in 2006 I got qualified as a licensed tourist guide which I have been doing ever since. Throughout the years my aim has been to exceed my guests' expectations by giving them a personal approach with a good sense of humor and to introduce my city and Hungary in an enthusiastic, amusing and informative manner. George was very easy to communicate with and kept us organized on our tour, catering to our specific desires. His car was spacious and clean for our family of 4 people. He provided water and took us for coffee in front of the palace for a snack and bathroom break. We requested to see The Hospital in the Rock. He helped us get tickets and then patiently waited for us to have the mandatory 1-hour guided tour. He engaged easily with my 2 kids, aged 12 and 14 yrs old, keeping their attention and making them laugh. George was very personable and taught us about the history of Budapest, Hungarian culture, and left before and after communism. We really enjoyed his tour sites though both the Buda and also the Pest portions of the twin city. George is well traveled and can easily relate to clients from all over the world. If you love history, stories, and facts, he is the guide for you! My husband, kids, and I felt that we had become friends after the 7 hour tour together. We got all the city’s highlights and loved our day together.
