Dear Traveller, Welcome to my site and thanks for stopping by! My name is Melinda and I am a licensed tour guide for Hungary. I'm very lucky as my job is also my passion. . . I have been guiding for years, I have worked with reputable companies such as Viking, Tauck, Scenic, AValon, AMA Waterways, etc. However, my favourite tours are the ones with smaller groups and guiding individual travellers- there is more personal touch, plenty of time for chatting, so the trip can be a more memorable and unique experience. I am a keen traveller myself, too, I had the wonderful opportunity to live in Turkey and Italy for a while, great experience which I will never forget. I am definitely not an office person. I enjoy being out and about the whole day, feeling the athmosphere of the city, walking in the picturesque cobbled streets of downtown Budapest and the countryside, sharing my stories with others. I am a flea-market goer, keen on antiques and I also paint. I have a WSET qualification in Hungarian wines so I will happily discuss any wine related topics on my tours. To me every corner tells a story about the past and every street leads somewhere worth exploring. I would love to show you the true face of Budapest and this country and also give you an insight into the daily life here. What can you expect on my tours? I like to have fun and like it when those around me are also having a great time. I am very sociable and during my tours we will sometimes meet and chat with locals. We can also discuss authentic and contemporary issues, matters of daily life and anything else that you would like to know. **** Media appearances: I took part in filming for the BBC 'The One Show' - we filmed an insert for the show in Budapest, I was the guide of the film crew and also appeared on screen Cooperation on the American Airlines On Flight Magazine - Budapest edition I was also the lucky guide of Matt Long, publisher of Landlopers, you can read his article here: https://landlopers.com/2015/01/11/touring-with-local **** ALL MY TOURS ARE FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE! I am very flexible about our itinerary so it is not a problem if you want to change the schedule. I am well aware that your time here is precious and I would like to make sure that your tour is full, interesting, engaging, fun, and informative. We can travel via public transport, walk or I can arrange a first class van or minibus. Just contact me and I can customize the tour to meet your needs. So my tour ideas are rather recommendations, feel free to ask for any specials. I very much look forward to hearing from you and making sure your time in Hungary is special and memorable. Licensed guide in English - Hungarian Trade Licensing Office Dohany street Great Synagogue - certified and licenced guide License for the Esztergom Bazilika and Treasury History Teacher BA degree Grand Circle Program Director Training WSET basic level certificate in Hungarian wines I do not have any restrictions in regard to my guiding, the only exception is the Hungarian Parliament and the Opera house where they have their own guides and organize their own tours

This day trip is the perfect opportunity to see a bit of the Hungarian countryside, visit spectacular sights and learn about the country's rich history. The Danube Bend is no doubt one of the most scenic neighborhoods in this country, just an hour drive from the capital, an area where natural beauty meets architecture and history. On the tour we will visit the largest Hungarian cathedral, the cradle of Magyar Christianity. As a certified guide to the building and its treasury, I will share several secrets with you which are not even in the guidebooks. The romantic castle ruin of Visegrad stands on a mountaintop, with breathtaking views over the Danube Bend. As we stroll around, we learn about the medieval lifestyle, knights and kings. We spend the afternoon in Szentendre, a picturesque artist village with many churches and quaint athmosphere. This charming little place will certainly steal your heart with its pretty 18th century buildings, romantic cobbled stone streets and art galleries.
