If I had a coat of arms, it would say: „Entertain and educate” My goal is to show you the best parts of the city, tell you the most interesting stories, show you most amazing views. As you are enjoying your unique Hungarian experience, you won’t even recognize how much you learn about our history, culture, gastronomy, and so on… Born and raised in Budapest, I can tell you so many insider details and stories, that at the end of our time together you will feel like you’ve spent your whole life here. I consider myself lucky to be an eyewitness to a sleeping beauty's transformation to a multi-cultural metropolis. While my hometown was changing into a Central-European hub, I finished my studies in 2011, the last chapter was finishing my Master’s program in tourism and guiding. As they say… the rest is history! (Pun is always intended.) As a qualified tour guide, I provide tailor-made boutique tours 100% customized to your needs. I am working with several river cruise companies such as Viking, Tauck, Scenic, Emerald, AMA Waterways. This way I have the necessary knowledge to arrange post, or pre-cruise tours without repeating the sights you’ve seen before. I am not necessarily a 'regular' guide, I am more into helping my travellers understand the city they are touring, instead of citing facts and figures about buildings and statues. I strongly believe that it is easier to fall in love with a city as we understand more. • Tour-guide licence issued by Hungarian Trade Licensing Office Licensed • Tour guide in the Dohány street synagogue and in the Rumbach street synagogue Important notice: I am not a driver, but I am happy to arrange a car or minivan with a driver for our tour together.

With this tour you can discover the key sites of Budapest with a born and raised, super proud local. Four hours are enough to cover the signature sites on both the Pest and on the Buda side as well. By using the public transit we can avoid traffic jams, and by the end of the tour you'll be familiar with using the local public transit system, which should help a lot while you discover the rest of Budapest on your own. During this half-day long walking tour you can not only learn about the history of Budapest and Hungary, but I will tell you fascinating stories, urban legends about the sights we pass by. My mission statement is to entertain and to educate! If you want to explore more - up on previous agreement - we can even add 1 or 2 additional hours, to cover more in the Buda Castle neighbourhood, or to explore some parts of the so-called historical Jewish quarter. The options are - almost - endless! The tour can be tailor made for you!

What a pleasure to spend 4 hours with this knowledgeable guide. Very personable and relatable, his ‘side stories’ made it all the more fun. Thanks for giving us such a wonderful Budapest experience.
We really enjoyed our time with Adam. He listened to our requests and formed a tour that met our interests. Was u fun and very knowledgeable.
Our Guide Adam Marot was amazing. He personalized our tour to our requests, and answered our questions with insight and care. His English is extremely good. Adam is a storyteller, and brings insights into real life in Budapest. This tour was like walking around the city talking to a smart and well informed friend.
Adam was a fantastic guide for our group with ages ranging from 9 upwards! Lots of interesting and unusual facts about the city and its history, as well as his own experiences growing up in Budapest. Would highly recommend.
Adam M is the ultimate professional guide. A multi-generational Hungarian, Adam's vast knowledge of all things Hungarian, revealing family experiences, intelligence, creativity, kindness, patience, good nature, and sense of humor combine to give you a delightful, rewarding experience. We booked Adam for three tours, Buda, Pest, and night. He customized to eliminate overlap. Each one was delightfully educational. His great sense of humor added a noticeable measure of fun. We highly recommend Adam Marot.
- City park (Vajdahunyad Castle, House of Hungarian Music) - Heroes' square - Andrassy avenue & State Opera House lobby - Saint Stephen's Basilica - Liberty square - House of Parliament building - Buda Castle quarter (Matthias church, Fisherman's bastion) --- The above recommended itinerary is a suggestion! By all means, the tour can be customised to meet your interest and to avoid any overlaps with other sightseeing program
