By car: 20+ Highlights of Budapest

We took Lara's highlights of Budapest by car with her driver Tomas, who met us outside the Parliament. We visited so much that we could never do on foot. Lara is a wealth of knowledge and showed us layers of medieval, gothic and baroque architecture in both Buda and Pest. We stopped at several scenic overlooks to take some incredible photos, visited St. Mathias and St. Stephens Churches, and go to tour the Castle District. Lara shared Hungary’s evolution from early migration to their Monarchic history and break from Communism. We learned about St. Stephen, Mathias Corvinas and the Hapsbergs. She was informative, funny and so easy-going, and we got so much out of our day together! We even tried Lángos in an authentic restaurant before we were dropped off at our hotel. Lara made our time here memorable, and the tour was a major highlight of our vacation! Highly recommended!

Lara’s tour was so good. We saw most of the highlights of Buda and Pest, with Lara’s insightful commentary on the history of the area going back centuries. We were not rushed on this tour and it was a good combination of driving and walking. Lara’s knowledge of Hungarian history and culture comes through at every stop and her enthusiasm for the subject is readily apparent. I highly recommend Lara as a tour guide.

Lara and her driver were absolutely fabulous. She was so informative with an amazing, helpful personality. We got so much covered in four hours…. We were very happy and impressed and definitely need to come back to see more. It's a wonderful city, and she was the best.

Lara was the perfect Guide! She is knowledgeable, and very pleasant. She knew so much about so many things, and was able to clearly explain it all to us! She brought us to various places, explained how they were important in the present day, and give us great historical context, as well. We highly recommend Lara , and will suggest her to friends.

Lara was wonderful and we recommend her without reservation! Her half-day tour covered the high points; she adjusted the agenda to meet our requests and physical needs; and her deep knowledge of Hungary's history taught us more than we ever expected. She even gave us a language lesson!

Superb tour highly recommended!!! We have vast experience with tours from many cities and this was the best guide we ever had. She is Extremely knowable about history of hungry Europe and the city, the explanations were clear and interesting and the tour was planned impeccably to capture the important highlights balanced evenly with walking / driving. On top of all the guide was truly enthusiastic about her city! For sure we'll come back for more tours with this guide next time we are in Budapest.
