Guide #23851
Hi, I’m Neil , your local Scottish guide, storyteller, and hidden‑gems finder. After retiring from a 30‑year career in the Police Service, I followed my passion for Scotland’s landscapes, history, and culture and moved into the tourism world. Fifteen years later, I still love every moment of showing visitors the real Scotland. I was born and raised in the Edinburgh area, and I’ve spent a lifetime exploring every corner of this country, from iconic landmarks to the quiet, breathtaking spots most travellers never discover. If you’re interested in history, whisky, golf, ancestry, or simply soaking up Scotland’s scenery, I tailor every tour to what you love. I’m an accredited Whisky Ambassador, a keen golfer, and an experienced guide who has led tours all over Scotland for solo travellers, couples, families, and groups. I specialise in creating relaxed, personalised experiences that feel more like travelling with a local friend than following a script. You can join me in my luxurious Mercedes V Class (up to 7 guests), or a BMW 7. People often describe me as friendly, approachable, and trustworthy, qualities shaped by decades of public service. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and I’m always happy to share tips, stories, and insider knowledge to make your trip unforgettable. If you’d like advice, ideas, or a chat about planning your perfect Scottish adventure, I’d love to hear from you. Excellent tour guide! This was a long day of driving to see Hadrian's Wall, but we knew that. Neil set up a tour of Rosslyn Chapel as well for us. Wonderful tour guide. Excellent communication before hand. Timely arrival at our hotel.
We were so happy with the day we had with Neil. He was so knowledgeable about everything he took us to see and do. He was kind and professional and I would recommend Neil to anyone!!

Thanks Ted, it was a pleasure meeting you both, and showing you the sights of Edinburgh
Neil’s local knowledge made our tour logistics flawless, he was very familiar with the areas we toured and his love for his land came across. Very personable and flexible so we could spend time in the areas we preferred, we enjoyed our visit to Hadrian’s wall and even got to picnic there. Thank you Neil!
