Hi! I'm Derek. I became a tour guide as driving and exploring the beautiful scenery and historic sites and quaint little villages that are scattered all over Scotland excites me, and I want to pass on this joy to everyone who comes to visit Scotland. Previously as an H. G. V. Driver carrying dangerous goods (whisky included) meant that I have had to undertake intensive Advanced Driver Training which results in the knowledge that you will be in safe hands as we explore the sights on offer. My aim overall is to provide every traveler with the best experience possible on their visit to my homeland and to have them leaving as friends with memories to last a lifetime. Derek was amazing! He was very responsive to our communications before the tour and was awesome during the tour. He tailored our experience to what we wanted and made sure we saw all the highlights. He gave us the history of the area and added some anecdotes which kept us entertained. All 8 of us loved our tour with Derek and highly recommend him!!
This was our second tour that we use Derek for. Both times he picked us up off of the cruise ship. He was always early and easy to find. We saw castles and Highland cows. Derek is a born and bred true Scotsman. He is easy to understand. He was very knowledgeable about our sites. We had a great day.

Derek did a fantastic job of helping us see all the key sites on our bucket list. We were delayed getting off the boat, but he managed the agenda brilliantly and we saw Rosalyn Chapel, Edinburgh Castle, some Harry Potter related sites and really enjoyed the day. First class service the entire day! Highly recommend.
Derek provided our group of 8 with a great day in Edinburgh. He was very accommodating and responsive to our needs. If you choose this tour be sure to purchase your Edinburgh Castle tickets in advance. We did not and they were sold out. Roslyn Chapel was a highlight. Derek chose a very nice a quiet place nearby for our lunch. Traffic and parking were a challenge in the most popular areas but Derek was able to get us close. This tour worked well for our group of eight adults. The van was very comfortable.

Pick up at your hotel or accommodation Deans Village - (20 minutes) Fettes and Stewart Melville College - (Drive by) Queensferry Crossing - (15 minutes) Rosslyn Chapel - (45 minutes) Craigmillar Castle or Edinburgh Castle- ( 1 hour ) Lunch break at local inn - (1 hour) Good spot! Grassmarket - (Walkthrough) Greyfriars Bobby - (10 minutes) St Giles Cathedral - (30 minutes) Calton Hill - (30 minutes) Drop off at your hotel or accommodation Entry into each site is not mandatory. You can still walk the grounds and take photos if you don't wish to enter. Entry fees are not included, however, these are not mandatory. You will still be able to explore the grounds and take photos if you don't wish to enter all locations.
