When I show someone around Edinburgh, St Andrews or anywhere in Scotland I want them to feel like they are seeing it with a friend rather than a guide, as a result all my tours are fun and relaxed. There will be stories, a few laughs and as much history as interests you. Everyone wants different things so all my tours are tailored to suit your needs. As well as learning lots about Scotland past and present in an easy to understand manner, we may well end up going for tea, a whisky tasting and most importantly, getting to see spots other travelers don't get to see. Travel is something extremely important to me, it lured me away from a career in science in the UK and led me to working as a photographer for Lonely Planet, various guidebooks, magazines and newspapers. Being based in Tokyo for 11 years where I was lucky enough to travel extensively and see the world, but on visits back to Scotland with friends I found I loved nothing better than showing my own native land through the eyes of a local and this led me to moving back to Scotland and becoming a tour guide. Although I've loved all the jobs I have done previously, nothing gives me greater pleasure than what I do now as I'm lucky enough to have a job that allows me to wake up smiling every day as at the end of each day I've been lucky enough to introduce the best parts of my own country to people from all over the world. If you choose me, I'll do whatever I can to make sure you finish your day with an equally big smile and Scotland will always have a very fond place in your memories.

I graduated from the University of St Andrews (just before Prince William arrived) and my family live here, so I really know about the town! I will bring all my personal experiences of the town to the tour as well as telling you all about it's history, golf, the university and how this little place helped shaped Scotland. So many things to see and do. I'll pick you up in Edinburgh, drive you to St Andrews to discover the hidden gems of this small city and add in somewhere else to visit in Fife or even near Edinburgh to add to your experience. On this private tour, you will explore the key areas of this gorgeous little town while you hear all the cultural and historical aspects of the city. Will was absolutely brilliant in the way he structured the day and in providing flexibility to work in a stop at Dean Village. His depth of knowledge of Scottish history made for an interesting, informative and entertaining day, and his attention to detail in coordinating pick up and drop off at the hotel, the Old Course and at the hotel added to the enjoyment of the day.
Will, was a fantastic guide. He provided many, many interesting historical and interesting facts about Saint Andrews. The day was very well organized and was flawless. He had many excellent recommendations for coffee, shops, restaurants, and other shops in St. Andrews.

Will knows his stuff!! We had a very enjoyable time on our tour of Edinburg and St Andrews. His knowledge of the countryside saved us a lot of travel time and his knowledge of the history and culture of Scotland was outstanding.
- We start off with pick up in Edinburgh and we will drive to St Andrews which will take roughly 90 minutes. - We will explore key areas of this gorgeous little town so you will find out about it's links to golf, the University, it's history and how it helped shape the world. - In St Andrews, in addition to the cultural and historical aspects of the tour, we can arrange lunch, visits to local pubs and coffee shops. - On the way back to Edinburgh we have the option of dropping into local Villages such as Falkland that has the worlds oldest tennis court and was the backdrop to much filming of the Outlander TV show. There is also a really great local organic farm and restaurant and family run tweed/clothing store that has been there since 1888 and supplies local gentry and farmers alike. This is a tour for you, rather than having a set itinerary I want to make one to suit what you want to do.
