Hi, I'm Alan, born and bred in Scotland and a local expert for tailor made tours in and around my beautiful country. After many years working in the financial sector in Edinburgh's city centre, I decided to follow my deep-rooted passion for Scotland and all it has to offer, to become a tour guide. I focus on creating individually tailored escapades based on my travellers' personal tastes, using the expertise I gained from over 10 years of touring experience. From rugged mountains and mysterious lochs to the castles and palaces that make up Scotland's rich history, my knowledge and experience of all the hidden gems guarantee that you get the most out of your visit. Whether it's finding the best spot for an Instagram worthy picture, sampling a dram or two at one of our world-renowned distilleries, visiting some of the cult TV series 'Outlander' filming locations, feeding a Highland cow, fine dining or sampling our traditional haggis at a local pub, I'll make sure you experience Scotland at its best. One of the highlights of the work I do is meeting new people from all over the world. My relaxed and friendly approach allows me to not only share my stories but also customize your trip to ensure it meets all your needs. My tours will be carried out in a Mercedes V class so if you want an exclusive and extraordinary adventure in Scotland while travelling in luxury and comfort, I'd love to welcome you on board. Tour guide since 2017 and a whole lifetime of exploring my country and learning about its rich history. Full Driver's licence. My Vehicle can accommodate up to 7 passengers I will not be able to guide you inside any historical sites and monuments. These locations will have their own licensed staff/guides.

Overview of your Edinburgh tour

On this tour, we'll take in the breathtaking scenery that the Highlands has to offer We will find ourselves driving through the stunning Glencoe Pass with it's rugged mountains and many waterfalls - this is one of the most scenic drives in Scotland. We'll also visit several historic landmarks on our trip, including Doune Castle, St Conan's Kirk and Kilchurn Castle. On our way to Glencoe we will pass through Callander, which is a picturesque town on the banks of the River Teith and where we can feed some Highland cows. From Callander, we will continue north and visit the Falls of Dochart and the mysterious Loch Lubnaig which sits between the 2 majestic mountains, Ben Ledi and Benvane. There'll be a lot of driving on this tour as we look to see as much as we can in a day, but there'll be plenty of stops on the way to grab a coffee, take photos, have lunch and, of course, feed the Highland Cows

Alan was a fantastic guide. He was right on time to pick us up, knowledgeable and friendly. The transportation was very comfortable. The sights were spectacular and the itinerary that Alan put together was perfect. Alan offered up helpful suggestions for things to do in Edinburgh both before and after our tour. I highly recommend Alan.

Alan was so personable, polite and knowledgeable. Very flexible so that we were able to tailer the tour as we went. He ducked us into a whiskey tour that was better than anything we could have booked. 10 stars!

This is one of the best tours we've had. Alan was very accommodating when my mum wanted a slight detour to take a boat tour. He even contacted us prior to the trip and provided the itinerary so that we know where we will be headed and the timing it would take to complete it. His ride the Mercedes V class was really comfortable to sit in with all seats facing forward which was very much appreciated (as it lessens car sickness). Overall we had a pleasant time as Alan was quite knowledgeable, managing to answer my mum's questions and even queries on the happenings of royalties (to my amusement :p).

We had the best day today. Alan was the perfect tour guide. We saw more of Scotland than we ever thought was possible! We visited The Kelpies, Stirling Castle, 2 Lochs, the highlands of Glencoe Pass, Forth Firth Bridge to Culross and so much more. The lunch he arranged for us at The Way Inn at the Kings House Hotel was delicious and the scenery awe inspiring. It was an out of bounds day of natural beauty! Thank you Alan!!!
