Hi, I’m Neil , your local Scottish guide, storyteller, and hidden‑gems finder. After retiring from a 30‑year career in the Police Service, I followed my passion for Scotland’s landscapes, history, and culture and moved into the tourism world. Fifteen years later, I still love every moment of showing visitors the real Scotland. I was born and raised in the Edinburgh area, and I’ve spent a lifetime exploring every corner of this country, from iconic landmarks to the quiet, breathtaking spots most travellers never discover. If you’re interested in history, whisky, golf, ancestry, or simply soaking up Scotland’s scenery, I tailor every tour to what you love. I’m an accredited Whisky Ambassador, a keen golfer, and an experienced guide who has led tours all over Scotland for solo travellers, couples, families, and groups. I specialise in creating relaxed, personalised experiences that feel more like travelling with a local friend than following a script. You can join me in my luxurious Mercedes V Class (up to 7 guests), or a BMW 7. People often describe me as friendly, approachable, and trustworthy, qualities shaped by decades of public service. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and I’m always happy to share tips, stories, and insider knowledge to make your trip unforgettable. If you’d like advice, ideas, or a chat about planning your perfect Scottish adventure, I’d love to hear from you. Worked 3 years as a tour guide at Glenkinchie Distillery Accredited whisky ambassador Police qualified advanced driver

Edinburgh is a city best discovered on foot. Beyond the famous landmarks lie hidden alleys, historic streets and remarkable stories that have shaped Scotland's capital for centuries. This private walking tour combines the history of Edinburgh's Old Town with one of Scotland's greatest traditions – Scotch whisky. Starting outside The Witchery on Castle Hill, opposite Edinburgh Castle, you'll follow the Royal Mile, explore hidden corners and visit Greyfriars Kirkyard while hearing the stories behind the people and places that made Edinburgh famous. Along the way, you'll stop in traditional Edinburgh pubs to enjoy three carefully selected drams while learning about Scotland's whisky regions, how Scotch whisky is made and simple tasting techniques with a whisky expert. With a private guide, there's plenty of time for questions, photographs and a relaxed pace, making every tour a personal and memorable experience. Also available for groups of 3 - 8 guests.
