Hello, please let me introduce myself. I'm John Mc. I was born and lived most of my life in Edinburgh. I'm a fully qualified taxi driver in Edinburgh with over 20 years experience . I'm a fully accredited tour guide for Edinburgh I have completed the worshipful company of Hackney Carriage Drivers tour course for Edinburgh . I am also an accredited whiskey ambassador. It would be my pleasure to show and tell you the many sites and stories that Edinburgh and Scotland has to offer. I can offer a full range of tours of Edinburgh from 4, 8 and 12 hours. I can also offer a wide range of full day tours outside of Edinburgh from Stirling , St Andrews, The Scottish Borders and Outlander tours along with the Highlands of Scotland. Or I can build a tour that suits your tastes and requirements. I also offer a full range of tours throughout Scotland's whisky regions and distilleries, something completely different. All at your own pace (although I set itineraries up you are in control). So relax and take everything at your pace. I want you to have as much fun as I do on all the tours given. You can tell me what you want and I will make a tour that fits and suits you. All tours are bespoke to each clients requirements. My philosophy is to treat every tour as it is your only chance to visit Scotland. I will make every tour unique for all my customer's. I look forward to seeing you . This tour is almost 12 hours This tour takes us to the heart of the Higlands of Scotland . This tour will take your breath away as we travel through the highlands with views of scenery to take your breath away. We will visit some of Scotland's most popular locations and one or two less know locations but none the less impressive. This is a day to remember as we make our way through Glens past lochs . there will be time for lunch and stops for taking those all important photos. Before we returning to your accommodation at the end of the day.
This is my second review. Please also see my review of John's full day tour in and around Edinburgh. We spent 12 plus hours driving up into the Scottish highlands with John and he is amazing. He is an expert at history, culture and geography. I would not have imagined we could see that many amazing things in one day including stops for coffee, lunch and extras.
John was fantastic! Kind, knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and he even wore a traditional Scottish kilt! John was simply THE BEST! He took us to several places with great views, had a basket full of snacks and drinks. Would definitely recommend for any tour!
John was fantastic, he made our trip to the Highlands the highlight of our trip to Scotland. John was well informed and his focus was 100% on us, his clients.
John was very kind, knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and he even wore a traditional Scottish kilt! He shared many excellent stories, knew all of the perfect places to take us in the Highlands, and was wonderful with our kids' endless questions. We very much enjoyed spending our day with John touring Scotland, and would highly recommend him!
We enjoyed a wonderful day with John on our trip to the Highlands. John arrived promptly in the morning, and he was very kind to provide us with some snacks, juice and water. We stopped at several great spots along the way. We didn't feel rushed at all by John at each of the stops. It gave us the opportunity to really enjoy our day at a comfortable pace, taking in the beauty of the Highlands.

Leave Edinburgh The first stop is at the western end of Loch Tay and the famous white water of the Falls of Dochart. This waterfall runs through the small town of Killin. View the falls from the village bridge. Admire the misty spray rising in the air as the river crashes into the rocks then flows around the Island of Inchbuie. Drive through stunning Glen Coe Take in the majestic landscape and keep an eye open for wildlife such as red deer and golden eagles. The mountain wilderness stretches out for miles giving you countless amazing photo opportunities. Situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Fort William is famous as the starting point to climb Ben Nevis and as the start of the Caledonian Canal. Continuing on a few miles, discover the ship that ran aground at the Corpach sea loch after a storm in December 2011. The sight of the shipwreck in the foreground and Ben Nevis in the backgrounCorpach shipwreck We move onto the Glenfinnan viaduct and monument. If we are lucky we will see the Jacobite express.
