Half-Day Highlights of Edinburgh in a Black Cab

We had a tremendous tour with Rafal K. We gave him certain parameters based on physical ability and he was spot on. I do not think we missed much. He has so much knowlege about Edinburgh and is a great communicator. He also has an eye for the little quirky things that really makes Edinburgh interesting. We did a black cab tour but walking or riding Rafal is the man.

We arrived in Edinburgh by cruise ship and wanted a great overview tour of the city. We weren't thrilled with the cruise line's excursion offerings for that day, so we decided to consider independent tour operators. Our search led us to this Half-Day Highlights of Edinburgh in a Black Cab, led by Rafal. There is no doubt it was the absolute right choice for introducing us to the magic of Edinburgh! Rafal is a passionate local who took us to -- Edinburgh's highlights (but not in a way the crowds see them)...amazing viewpoints...hidden gems (there are SO many!)...filming locations...and the many unique neighborhoods of the city. He also gave us time for multiple coffee breaks, toilet trips, and shopping. We even extended our time with Rafal, and he took us to a local pub for lunch and we visited multiple local bookstores (we own a bookshop in the states). We saw so much that Edinburgh offers, and did it all at a relaxed pace. In addition to being a tour guide, he's also a cabbie, so he knows how to maneuver to avoid the crowds. Also, his black cab is allowed to go places that large tour buses can't access, and park in locations that provided a short walk to our destinations. His tour was filled with stories and lore, as we learned about authentic Edinburgh. His passion for the city is infectious...we fell in love with this remarkable place because of Rafal's storytelling. Also, a last minute port change had us docking about 40 minutes from our anticipated docking location, but Rafal was waiting on us at the new location, and delivered us back to the ship at the end of a remarkable and memorable day. I just cannot imagine there being a better way to see Edinburgh than in Rafal's black cab!

Rafal was a wonderful guide who was very considerate of our wheelchair user son and ensured he got to experience everything possible. We appreciated how he adapted to our interests and enjoyed the “locals” touch he provided.

Rafal is a great guide, on time and flexible when needed. Enjoyed 2.5 days with him on this tour and 2 others. Picked us up from the hotel and gave us a quick overview of Edinburgh in a very efficient and interesting manner. Booked a great place for lunch near the Castle and helped us navigate the rest of the day.
