TOURSBYLOCALS SHINING STAR AWARD WINNER | LICENSED GUIDE & ART HISTORIAN | SKIP-THE-LINE ACCESS Being a guide is in my DNA- quite literally, in fact, as my mother, too, was a tour guide. Yet when I was young, I was determined NOT to become a guide, and obtained a Degree in Art History (2001). Of course, I wasn’t going to outrun my destiny that easily! To me, Barcelona is an ‘open-air museum’, and I soon found it unbearable to be locked away in an art gallery, while there was so much to see and show out on the streets. So, in 2010, I surrendered, and became a Fully Licensed Tour Guide. That day was the first day of the rest of my life, my personal “wow” moment, as I discovered my lifetime passion. I was recently awarded TBL’s SHINING STAR AWARD (2025), which was an enormous honour (although, of course, Barcelona’s only true shining star stands majestically at the top of the Sagrada Familia). Yet my true reward is when, at the end of a tour, I see my passion reflected in my guests. I just can’t help it… I don’t want you to like Barcelona; I want you to be blown away by Barcelona! If you read my reviews, you will see my guests leave eager to come back; which, I am delighted to say, many of them do, forging invaluable friendships over time. As your guide, I will take you over and beyond “sightseeing”. I don’t want you to just see Picasso, I want you to experience Picasso and understand what he meant to the 20th Century. I don’t want you to just see Gaudí; I want you to discover how his creativity, symbolism and deep connection to nature transform his monuments into multi-sensory experiences. I am so proud to be a barcelonina... I still get goose bumps when I remember the 1992 Olympic Games when, for the first time, we showed the world Barcelona’s tremendous potential. Barcelona is nothing short of a masterpiece, the Mediterranean turned into a city; a city where the streets are structured but façades are shaped like waves. A city built on a base of solid engineering, but overflowing with creativity, like Gaudí’s architecture. Barcelona is so much more than can be seen at face value, and my mission is to do justice to our heritage by showing you, my guests, the hidden layers and details, so you too have that “wow” moment. It would not only be a pleasure, but a true honour to be your guide. So, wait no more, and let my Barcelona blow you away! Hasta pronto, fins aviat, see you soon!

This was by far the best tour we booked on our recent 2 week trip. Suzi taught us more things in 4 hours than I could have ever imagined. All while keeping it fun and at the right pace (group aged 44-73). Her knowledge about Picasso made me become even more of a fan. Definitely book this tour if you want to learn about Barcelona!

October 2026Kristen, thank you! You were such a lovely family to explore Barcelona with. I love showing how art is never just about style, but also about power, identity and the stories a city tells about itself. Sometimes artists can shift perspectives with the gentlest breeze, while others need a hurricane to make their point. Picasso certainly knew a thing or two about that! It...

Suzie was an absolute delight. We had a unique situation, and she was incredibly flexible. Every step of the way, she was hilarious, communicative and kept things on track. She took the tour beyond the obvious and gave us social and political context. Her knowledge of the details was exceptional. We’ve found ourselves quoting her multiple times on the trip since. She went...

October 2026Alexis, Samuel, Sue & Nathan — Sagrada Família, rain, divine intervention, and THE STROKES?! Honestly, I’m still not sure what was more monumental: Gaudí’s masterpiece or the plot twist that walked into our day. The rain stopped, the universe had excellent timing, and somehow I had to make architecture compete with rock royalty. As Julian would say, the end has no end…...

Suzie was wonderful. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She showed us aspects of Gaudi’s work we’d never had found on our own.

October 2026Matt, David, Susan and Connie, what a pleasure it was to explore Gaudí’s wonderfully crazy universe with you! From Park Güell to the Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló, we uncovered the secrets hiding in plain sight. And of course, Barcelona kept the rain away because Minneapolis had sent you all this way to enjoy the sunshine! Thank you for your curiosity, your lovely...

Very interesting tour led by someone who obviously loves what she does. She imparted lots of knowledge and showed us details that we would never have seen on our own. Thank you Suzie

October 2026Laurie, Rhonda, Bruce and David, thank you all! It was such a pleasure sharing Gaudí’s world with you. As Gaudí said, “Nothing is art if it does not come from nature.” And once you start looking at the details, you realise how much there is to discover! I’m delighted you enjoyed the tour and got to see Barcelona through a different lens. All the best to you all, and...
