Imagine that you have just one day in Anchorage in winter and you want to embrace everything in just a few hours… seems impossible? I tell you that it IS possible if you know where to go, what to see and why should you see this. Anchorage is just another city, but… 15 minutes here and there make all the difference. Checking cultural attractions means to see real tribal houses and boats, seeing city and the Ocean from the top - it's something different than just walking same looking streets. Winter is the most beautiful time of the year for us Alaskans. We love our fluffy snow, gorgeous moose and beautiful birds playing all around. We gonna walk in the wild environment, see frozen water, trees and mountains. Day is short in winter but enough to explore the most beautiful spots in our area.
Suggested Itinerary: We are going to explore Tent city of Anchorage and the most scenic surroundings. Hotel Pick Up. Im driving you to the most significant places in out city. First house in Anchorage, panorama of city from Earthquake Park, then We are going to see the city from the hight of Flattop Mountain (if road isn't closed due to snow or avalanche) and driving further. If it's a week day then we are Going to visit Heritage Center and some tribal houses from all parts of Alaska. Checking frozen waterfall, located in a beautiful South Fork of Eagle River. Driving through the Valley and visiting The Iditarod, headquarters of the most famous Dog Race in the world. Checking Palmer Visitor center and driving back to Anchorage. If we are lucky we stop for a quick picture with our giant snow man or SnowZilla if he is not melted or damaged yet. We should be done by 5 pm unless you have some additional requests for the tour!
