Half Day Alaska Native Cultural Tour

A tour with private transportation of the Alaska Native Heritage Center, a premier cultural center sharing the rich heritage of Alaska's 11 major cultural groups. While visiting you can explore six authentic life-sized Native dwellings situated in a wooded area around beautiful Lake Tiulana and are introduced to the traditional lifeways of the Athabascan, Inupiaq/St Lawrence Island Yupik, Yup'ik/Cup'ik, Aleut, Alutiiq, and the Eyak, Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian peoples. Then, a trip to the Eklutna village. Dating back to 1650, the park is the area's oldest continuously inhabited Athabaskan Indian settlement. Russian Orthodox missionaries came here in the early 1800s, and you can still see St. Nicholas Church, the oldest standing building in greater Anchorage.
